Emerging DJ and producer Cecilia Tosh has a keen ear for sleek and streamlined sonic combinations. Her sets, just as much as her own compositions, are testaments to her love for well-oiled structures and engineerings. A regular of Tresor, where she’s learned to hone her skills and precision, Tosh delivers brilliant sonic journeys one after the other, and her introductory RYC mix shall just live up to that - much deserved - hype. Swinging the pendulum betwixt luminescent melodies and under-the-radar dub moves, she certainly knows one or two things about steering a crowd into ecstatic abandon. But enough talking, we’ll leave it at that and just let the magic do the rest.

Ma Haiping stands as one of China's most influential electronic and independent musicians. Lauded by Jeff Mills, his album "Chang’e-4" was released on the legendary Axis Records, marking a significant milestone in his career. In recent years, his music has garnered widespread international acclaim, seamlessly blending the traditions of Detroit Techno with Sci-Fi and Hypnotic elements to create futuristic tracks designed for the dance floor.
In 2013, Ma Haiping made history by becoming the first Chinese producer to release Techno in Detroit with his EP "The Chinese Connection" on Scan 7's Cratesaves International label. His journey continued in 2015 with the release of the EP "Crepuscular Rays" on Orlando Voorn's Nightvision label. Between 2022 and 2024, he released several EPs, including "XX 8," "Collapse," "Parallel Cycle," "Invincible EP," and "Artificial Ecstatic" across various prestigious labels such as the UK's Molecular Recordings, France's Seclusion, and the USA's Sythetik Sound.
His tracks have been frequently featured by Beatport as the best Techno (R/D/H) tracks of the month. Esteemed media outlets like Groove Mag, Mixmag (UK and Asia editions), and 5 Magazine have recommended his work. Ma Haiping's music is regularly played by top international artists, including Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Slam, Ben Sims, Ken Ishii, DVS1, Rødhåd, Kr!z, and Rene Wise in their DJ performances.

For FRAKCAST011 we invite Figue, 

Figue is a Spanish vinyl DJ and producer, currently based in Netherlands. He started listening to different electronic music genres, such as drum and bass or dubstep, around 2013. This awakened his interest in exploring, in a non-serious way, just for fun, how these sounds were designed. Now, years later, his genuine interest has transferred to techno. Some of his productions will see the light during the following months, alongside a related project. As a DJ, Figue has shared the lineup with international artists like Kaiser, and has collaborated with collectives such as TN club and Lab Movement. Overall, his sets are characterized by the seeking of a balance between hypnotism and sharper percussions, trying to create an absorbing atmosphere while maintaining the groove and the energy. However, this time Figue presents a darker set, more focused on atmospheres and leading the listener through a slower, deeper progression. "You can get deeply lost in the darkness if you let yourself merge with it and not fight it.” With this statement, Denise Rabe vividly encapsulates her musical philosophy. As this episode of DYSTOPIA exhibits, her sound is less a musical form than a collection of sounds generating a tense, haunting atmosphere. Rabe's methods and ideas show with total clarity how darkness, what our society incorrectly perceives as negative, is in fact an opening onto a radically liberated world of abstract forces. In this episode I seek to define the meaning of darkness in techno and Denise also shares her thoughts with us about Berghain, the role of gender within the techno scene, how her personal philosophy is expressed through her music, as well as the fortuitous synergy between her name and the spirit of her music.
