Barakat Salaam is a diversified indvidual with roots from the City of Brotherly to Central Virginia. He was once crowned the Unsigned King of Central Virginia (under a different stage name) with his unique style and aggressive flow. Barakat took a hiatus from the hip hop scene for 13 years to focus on his religion and spiritual self. After Receiving his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering he turned back to his roots of being a recording artist of the Hip Hop/Rap genre. 
 
Barakats new material is a reflection of his religous/spiritual life with some grit to it. He is very clever in his wordsmithing and catchy hooks that will leave the listener/fan knowing the song by the end of it. Sometimes his simple but powerful words will have the listener reflecting on his/her own life. Bunyanun Marsus, which means "A Solid Cemented Structure", does just that. 
 
WASWAS (Whispers), United Nations featuring Ishues, Die for This (Structure of Love), I Can't Breathe featuring Ahmad Zayir of Muji Productions, and After Hardship are some of his notable records that have been getting streamed on Soundcloud. Look out for projects and new material to be dropping in the future.
