Back in December 2023 @mezmonty joined us to celebrate the BARBA 'nueve' BDAY “Pulling much of his inspiration from the golden era of house music in New York and Chicago, Mez seamlessly weaves between classic and contemporary sounds. You can hear influences from the old guard through his smooth and long-form mixing style, using songs as tools to create sonic environments that feel fresh, but decidedly old-school.

In 2022, he launched his much anticipated Los Angeles based party series “Signal”, which aims to showcase and pay homage to the roots of black and queer dance music, while demonstrating the power music has to facilitate connection and freedom on the dance floor.”

MEZ has quickly become a regular at some of the best-known parties in LA, NYC, Brasil and now Australia, bringing a fresh but decidedly old-school vibe. He's a young selector who plays '90s house in a way that feels new and exciting and classic all at once—you can hear influences from the old guard in the smooth way he mixes and how long he lets the songs play out, but you can also imagine his excitement at hearing these old records for the first time and wanting to share them with everyone else. In the right hands, even the most obvious record can become new.

To unite souls from all walks of life, harnessing the power of music to create immersive experiences that invite connection and celebration for those who are often overlooked.

Tāmaki Makaurau's BLUSH.MP3 is an artist, promoter and selector superstar. Her sound is all-encompassing, genre-bending and high-charged, embodying the true essence of global club culture.

Notable gigs BLUSH.MP3 has played include Auckland Pride, BARBA NZ Pride, Bassment, Big Gay Out, Cross St. Music Festival, Nympho, Propaganda and opening sets for internationally renowned artists including 100 Gecs, Kevin Aviance, Madam X, MikeQ and Narciss.

BLUSH.MP3 has established herself as a resident DJ in the Tāmaki Makaurau ballroom community, pumping the beat for The House of Coven-Aucoin, The House of Dawn, The House of Givenchy and The House of Iman. Not only is she a staple in the queer nightlife scene, but her artistry extends into a multifaceted range of sounds and spaces, not limited to one particular niche.
 
BLUSH.MP3 is also the founder of DOLLHOUSE, a club night celebrating the queer community - specifically QTBIPOC - through global club music. Since the first event in December 2022, DOLLHOUSE has hosted seven successful volumes and a radio residency on George FM.

BLUSH.MP3’s ultimate goal is for everyone on the dance floor to feel sexy, alive and free, through her seamless blends and exhilarating energy.

NYC based KIA (@daviejones_jr + @antwyone-ingram), while most certainly reflective of chaotic times, is a celebratory cauldron of sounds from BIPOC and Queer artists. It is an ode to ballroom, house, and the black and brown tastemakers that inhabit predominantly white techno spaces but are often overlooked, undermined or paid no mind. 

KIA represents sisterhood. She is your good Judy, your good GF, or the queen you KI with on the dance floor and you simply don’t know her name... so you toss her a “what’s good, KIA?” She knows she’s that girl, and you know it too, and you collectively “carry” to celebrate the occasion. 

BARBA wants to acknowledge everyone joining our #STAYHOMO campaign and supporting every fundraiser linked to each mixtape.

Laura King needs no introduction but in case this is your first time listening, her raved-up sets fuse together tribal techno, early trance and hard house. You will be surprised by each and every track she pulls out of her magic box of tunes and transported back to the sweaty dance floors we’re all missing this year.

"Hello friends :) 
This mix is made with the intent to have fun, make you dance and pump you up. Getting your body moving and blood flowing is so important for your mental health. 

I know that personally if I’m feeling down and I can’t find the motivation to get back on the track I want to be on, I pop on a wild fun techno mix and do some exercise! 
That really raises my vibration :) 

This year has been stagnate and uncertain and its really easy to lose faith when the wheels aren’t in motion and you’re not feeling a sense of accomplishment... BUT don’t lose sight of your dreams and goals in life! drive, ambition and working towards something we are passionate about keeps us happy and healthy!! 

SO put this mix on and get pumped about life my friends <3 I start things off with some old school ghetto house, into some off-centred tough numbers with futuristic sounds, then i build it up to my usual tribal, hard groove ravey vibe and end with a left field version of happy hard core/trance. 

Touching again on mental health, I just wanted to acknowledge that now more so than ever people are really struggling :( I’m sure we can all relate in one way or another!
