With her afropolitain look and a big smile that always lights up her face, Barbee could have very well earned a place on the cover of a fashion magazine. But then her name would be forgotten a little faster  ...
Because more than a stage name, it is a loud claim : She is a rebellious feminist, Barbee is proud to be black, Barbee is free, and Barbee is never so comfortable as when she puts her fingers on the decks !
With music as varied as hers, it is not surprising to find that Barbee has influences from all over, 2Pac, Zap Mama or Portishead !
Cultivating a young artistic curiosity, Barbee was initiated very early on in life. Being exposed to different musical trends her brother and her sister introduced her to Hip Hop, 90's, Electric Blues and captivating Jazz. Her passion for contemporary dance will then allow her to try her hand at Trip Hop, Electronica and Ambient at the Conservatory of Reunion Island.
Little by little Barbee is tamed by a colorful universe, such as the one of her idols : Erykah Badu. By looking at her character fond of challenges, add a final touch of electro and you'll start to understand her universe !
On turntables, Barbee's music is still emotionally charged. On stage, she does not hesitate to experiment all branches of the Afro electro genre : Kuduro, Baile, Zouk, Bass... But it's free from the codes of the Afro House to develop a more impulsive style of its own.
Faithful to her state of mind as to her name, Barbee The Black Free Hippie wants to break the norms, to communicate as much as possible with her public and to crossbreed her music through different genres.
The result ? A musical "living-together" of great talent !
