PRSM040 - ORTUS - ALERTA EP

Ortus is a talented producer from São Paulo that is constantly growing. His trajectory at Prisma began in 2020 when his song ‘Perla Nera’ was released on the annual compilation ‘Evolution’. In this release, we got to know a little about his studio and his creative process through the video he made for Prisma's 'Inside The Track' series.

Now, in 2022 Ortus is back at Prisma Techno with the 'Alerta' EP.  Containing four original tracks, it presents a hypnotic, dark and intergalactic atmosphere, marked by original and engaging vocals. The EP got important supporters, such as Richie Hawtin, who played the title track 'Alerta’ on New Year's Eve 2021, and Blancah played 'Way Out' at Time Warp Brazil 2022.

The world is going through a moment of great global alert, with pandemics, wars and climate change. All these catastrophes are alerts to activate our perception of reality, especially to make us more aware of the importance of taking care of the place we inhabit and mother nature. The time has come we must wake up to our internal conflicts and bring light to our actions in the world, with love, care and fraternity.

The title track 'Alerta’ is marked by intense rolling bass, heavenly melodies and a female vocal, which sounds like a radio transmission alerting us to the future that awaits us. As the track develops, psychedelic and metallic elements are added, helping to compose its interstellar atmosphere.

In 'Alone In The Crowd', the experience is compared to a meditative state, floating through space. This time a sweet and engaging female voice is combined with the powerful bass line, which grows throughout the track, until the arrival of the trippy break, highlighting the timbres and futuristic elements.

We continued with 'Underworld', giving the EP a more intimate tone. A steady, mysterious groove forms the basis for a playful melody, with layers of atmosphere perfectly blended into a sidereal orchestra.

We finish with 'Way Out', and we can say that it is a powerful track, marked by firm kicks and a very impactful drop. Here male and female voices are interspersed, along with sirens and Hitech elements, causing the impression is we are being sucked into a black hole.

You will find four different tracks included on this EP. The titular track « Boulevards » is all contrast and nuance — developing towards an epiphany of sound. It starts with a deep and intense beat, with cymbals leaving the listener in a trance-like state. Angelic voices haunt us and leave space for uncompromising, incisive synths. Between darkness and neon mental projections, this colorful track will bring everyone to the dancefloor!

Gain Records presents a fast and furious techno EP by Roberto Pagliaccia which also features remixes by Ramon Tapia and label boss Sisko Electrofanatik.
Roberto Pagliaccia is an Italian artist from Firenze who has become a regular on Gain Records with this being his 4th time featuring on one of the label’s releases. He is well-known on his local club scene and continues to grow his international fanbase following support by people ranging from Space 92 to Rebūke. Roberto is back on Gain with his solo EP, after the success of his previous Skill EP with Dubskull, top seller on Beatport top 20 Techno Melodic and Top 10 Peak Time with the banger remix by T78 and on top 50 best Vinyl.
“Crypto” is first of the originals and it fuses cinematic melodies with hypnotic percussion and a thumping kick drum. Ramon Tapia’s remix of Crypto ramps up the energy with extra percussion and an intense, new, arpeggio synth line. “Monero” is second of the original tracks, and it’s a dark and spacious cut with twisted euphoria. Sisko Electrofanatik’s remix of Monero has a driving groove with toughened up percussion and dramatic, industrial stabs.

Dyno is an Italian artist from the city of Pesaro and he is back on Gain Records for his sixth EP on the record label.
Picking up regular DJ support by some of techno's most respected club spinners, Dyno has been releasing music since the '90s, and he has an impressive back catalogue that features music on other scene leading record labels ranging from UMEK's 1605 and Coyu's Suara to his own imprint Dyrwalk.
This two-track EP features two gripping techno tracks that blend pulsating synths and driving percussion with intense atmospherics.
"Sconquasso" opens the release with its textured vocal stabs, fizzing high-end percussion and pulsating sub-bass. The second track is the 'Dark and Drop Mix' of Sconquasso, an alternative version also produced by Dyno, and is a restructured version that builds towards a single more epic breakdown, whereas the original mix has two different breakdown sections.

The drums are steel plated and the vibes are a bit more raw and direct.
