Autograf ft. Lils - You Might Be (bardz Remix)

This was the last song I wrote while abroad. I remember experiencing a pretty terrible bout of writer's block at the time, and was getting annoyed. I had spent the last 8 days in British Columbia, Canada, surrounded by forests and fresh air. It was definitely a nice change of pace from Arizona in the peak of August, which led me to question my lack of creativity even more. As I sat in the airport waiting to board, I finally broke through and drafted the backbone concept for this song. This track is called 'Kelona' for no other reason than the city I flew out of was Kelowna, CA. And I liked the sound of it (:

Kelona

This track is about the constant movement I experienced over the past year. I was constantly hopping from state to state, and even across the pond over to Europe. Most of this song was composed in airplanes, and I found it only appropriate to give this song the name 'Altitudes' because of that. I met so many people from all walks of life in the span of 6 months, and can undoubtedly say that many different personalities imposed their influence on this song, specifically. There wasn't a day that went by where I wasn't exposed to something new, whether it be an incredible lookout point at the top of Paris, or dodging a mugging attempt in the subways. The highs and lows of each place I visited made it difficult to maintain focus on finishing the main idea of this track at first; I later realized that it actually gave me a beneficial perspective on the feel I was going for, and was put together piece by piece every time I wrote more up in the sky.

Altitudes

This was the first track I wrote for the EP. It marked the end of my college years, and the beginning of an extensive period of time in which I was always traveling, never home. It meant a lot to me, as it was the first time I was ever hard-pressed to actually find time to make music every day. Away from my usual routine, I was forced to finish this track among a constantly changing scene from which I was used to. In more ways than one, this time in my live felt like a true transition from a comfortable space into an unknown, but exciting one. In this track, I tried my best to create noticeably different sections, as it progressed. The title 'Threshold' was chosen to try and describe the movement felt as you progressed through the song. Later on, after my travels had died down, I realized it was also the perfect name for the beginning of this EP, having marked the recent transition period in my life.
