Joining B.Cools for our latest mixtape is Baltimore-bred singer, guitarist and producer Life On Planets formally known as Liph. Part of the Crew Love family since the very early days, this is another one we're delighted to be ticking off the Cools Bucket List. 

Life on Planets is the story of a seeker; beginning his career making tracks in the warehouses of the underground Baltimore scene to making releases under Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap and Crew Love to name a few. Combining sultry lyrics with passion filled guitar licks and thumping beats, Liph melds r&b, bossa nova, reggae and house to weave surreal tales of wonder, bringing fresh awareness and consciousness to the dance-floor. 

Fresh off the release of Trippin with Brandon Lucas featuring the vocals of the man himself, it's time to introduce Life On Planets to the Cools mixtape alumni. Peep the full interview below live now on the blog.

Welcoming our latest guests to the Leisure Club Mixtape series, our long-time favourite funk-folks Video Age from the land of po-boys, jazz clubs and the melting pot of cultures, New Orleans.

Playing music together for the last decade and longtime friends from their early years coming up in the DIY scene, Ross Farbe (vocals/guitar) and Ray Micarelli (drums) began the project with their debut album in 2016 and have been crafting their signature early 80's synth-pop sound with experimentation and collaboration playing an important role in their magic-making recording process. 

Since catching our attention with their second full-length album Pop Therapy back in 2018, it's safe to say we're delighted to have them join us for a quick mixtape after regular inclusions in our Poolside Etiquette playlist over the years.

While all of us are living the quarantine life, Good Room has asked friends and residents to share mixes for our Solitude Series so you can dance on your own. The 25th mix comes from Matt FX. Matt FX is a DJ, producer, music supervisor, and emerging food personality. As a DJ, Matt approaches each and every set with an irreverence that the New York Times calls 'interesting social commentary on multiple levels'. As a music supervisor, he's the  man behind the soundtrack of the Comedy Central show BROAD CITY. As a producer, he just released his debut single Vaquero on Sorry Records. 100% of sales proceeds from Vaquero go to Crisis Text Line, a nonprofit organization offering free 24/7 mental health support. Here's what he had to say about the mix;

"This mix is a reflection on a trip I took to Mexico in early March right before the Covid-19 Lockdown began. On the very first night that I arrived I played a six hour all-night set at Departamento that is now one of my top 10 all-time DJ memories. Later in the trip I also had a profound experience in Tepotzlan that led me to produce Vaquero after returning to NYC. Good Room is without a doubt my favorite [legal] place to dance and DJ in New York - so grateful to be able to contribute to the solitude series!"
