We’re slowly getting used to the crisp Autumn mornings, though the struggle of getting out of bed only intensifies as winter creeps closer. Barney Cools sweats rarely leave our backs, and our wetsuits never seem to dry, thank god for wettie warmers! We miss the summer months, the long hot days spent in boardies, hanging out with the crew and getting up to mischief, it’s the best part of the year.

“Rootless” is a personal journey and a form of catharsis for the artist. The track tells the story of feeling like a nomad: built on contrasts, it moves between raw, powerful energy and a softer, more intimate soul. These opposites capture the artist’s inner world, where strength and vulnerability coexist. “Rootless” embodies this tension and channels it into an authentic and emotionally charged sound.

I loved making this track, It should seemingly fell together and seemed to work. The album artwork is of me when I was travelling around French Polynesia in 2005 - It is on a remote island next to Tahiti called Moorea. It was a lovely place, perfect for a Holiday!
