About the Album:
I started writing this collection of tracks inspired by sounds of the deep and wanting to explore the more minimal side of the genre, it's something I'm slowly working towards.
Throughout the album in amongst the clicks, crackles and hiss are the sounds of a scuba diver breathing through their regulator, it's one of the first sounds heard on the release. It was this sound I wanted to use to try and gel the tracks together, with the seven tracks ranging from those that are more dub-inspired, others more introspective and minimal, and others almost dancefloor friendly.

Manual Music presents you three deep intelligent cuts by Roby Deep, Peter Corvaia and Fractal Architect on the first 'Tales From The Deep' EP.

Roby Deep caught our attention with the release of 'Going Under' on Submarine Vibes, a personal favorite last year of Paul Hazendonk, the man behind Manual Music. Paul asked the Slovenian artist to join the Manual family and the result is here; 'Theatre' a deep throbbing builder layered on an acid bassline with delicate snippets of clear melodies breaking through during the entire track.

Peter Corvaia take things even deeper on his Manual debut 'Caspian'. This song breathes intelligence all over and you can clearly hear that Peter has put in a lot of time and effort to create something that special and rich in detail. Proper Manual debut here by the American.

Fractal Architect makes his return on Manual Music after his 2014 debut 'Crystalline' and having had released a mini album on the MNL sublabel in between. 'Espionage' sounds as mysterious as the title suggests. A beautiful warm piece of electronic music to end this release in proper fashion.

Ablekid aka Daniel Moore is a veteran DJ/producer from the famous Orlando underground now living inAustin, TX. Host : “Pineal Sessions with Ablekid” on Dna Radio Fm.
The Ablekid moniker has seen success in various forms since the move back home to his native Texas. His continued success in the US underground is a combination of effective crate digging, silky smooth DJ skills and just the right amount of grit and determination. His latest outing shows maturity and musical development, as we kick off proceedings with 'Celestials'. The track opens with all the right notes, as the expressive, progressive house influenced track grabs you from the word go, interspersing with roomy glowing vibes and filtered stabs, driving leads culminating into an energetic drop to round off this brilliant underground crowd pleaser, with its understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. Australia as a hotbed of unique talent is once again in the spotlight as two of Melbourne’s most exciting DJ/Producers, John Baptiste & Liam Sieker, combine their immense creativity and unleash a trio of outstanding tracks, collectively titled ‘Neon Skies’. Staying with the global theme, excellent remixes of ‘Neon Sky’ and ‘Neon Sunset’ come from Argentina’s Analog Jungs and India’s Weird Sounding Dude.

Opening with the subtle percussive vocodered beauty of ‘Neon Sky’, John Baptiste & Liam Sieker reveal their gorgeous, hypnotic deepness that morphs perfectly into the pulsating energy of ‘Neon Sunset’ as darkness falls. They then keep the energy level flowing with the acid tinged, heavy groove of ‘Neon Sunrise’ to complete their perfectly formed trio of diverse yet cohesive, proper progressive tracks.

The first of our remixes comes from Analog Jungs, the multi-talented and legendary Argentinian duo Claudio Cornejo and Gustavo Ruarte. Returning to the label on the back of their excellent ‘Marbella’ / ‘Vancouver’ (ODST0025) double-header, they deliver a uniquely impassioned interpretation of ‘Neon Sky’ that builds and soars with euphoric majesty.

Completing this 30th exceptional release package is the wonderfully named Weird Sounding Dude, who was first introduced to onedotsixtwo fans via his ‘Hugel’ track on Gustin’s recent ‘Synchronicity’ (ODST0019) mix comp. As one of India’s most intriguing progressive house artists, he always looks to stretch his music further than the traditional and here he builds a fabulous low-slung, percussive groove around ‘Neon Sunset’ and dives deep into textures and fx to weave a distinctive and powerfully hypnotic spell.

The second release in Poker Flat’s remix competition, celebrating 20 years of the label. This time, we get three stellar versions of Tim Engelhardt’s First Contact, which has been making waves since it first dropped in March of this year.

First up is the Okayshades Remix, brought to you by Robin Brink from Cape Town, South Africa. Brink’s signature sound is a mix of house, techno and down-tempo, and here he finds an elegant balance between firing up a dancefloor and making a thoughtful, emotional rework.

Next up is the Jacme remix, courtesy of Christophe Robert from Toulouse, France. Jacme started creating his own music in 2001, and has recently been collaborating with the likes of Connaisseur Recordings, AEON, Suah, and Outer Space Oasis. His rework is a classy, synth heavy refix, with a driving, restless vibe.

Next up Maxie König brings her considerable talents to the table with a sublime remix. Hailing from the Rhine-Neckar region, Maxie got her first residency at the age of 18, and had gone on from strength to strength since then. Her rework is a moody, deep version with elegant touches - sure to do the damage on the floor.

With 'Allumine' we welcome back Dutch producer de Graaf to the label. The original version of 'Allumine' kicks things off nicely with its forlorn moodiness shining through, as we stroll effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sweltering chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. The track continues to build on an unyielding foundation of deep percussive grooves and bass-lines. 'Allumine' is a skillful piece of music that highlights the de Graaf's palpable talents.
