Keeping it local, My Favorite Robot Records turn to the acclaimed Canadian house and techno producer that is Mateo Murphy for a new five track EP that explores the boundaries of quality electronic music.
Murphy has been active since the late 90s on labels like Turbo and Reconstructed but has been relatively quiet in recent years. This new EP marks a welcome return for a truly talented
producer.
Up first is ‘Focus,’ a languorous bit of elastic and dubbed out house music with twinkling melodies and bold bass strokes. Careful filter use allow rays of globular synth to beam into the
mix and add another layer of depth and colour. The dub version is that bit more stripped back and menacing with its granny chords and heady rhythms, then conjures up a heavenly, blissed out atmosphere with its celestial pads and chaired, starry melodies.
‘Apex’ marries arpeggiated keys that rise up through a glassy scale with icy hi hats and a nimble one note bassline. Uplifting and clean, crisp and expertly melodic, this one really will
sooth dance floors when dropped at the right time. The dub version is just as melodically well programmed but the bassline this time round is that bit more grounded and menacing.
It’s been a while since the world heard from Mateo but this latest missive proves he is a welcome voice in the global electronic conversation.

When the original version of this track was released on the recent Baroque STEMS package, it cause an acid ripple through the techno fraternity & so we thought it only fitting that the track be given the remix treatment and its own single release 

Omid himself has laid down a fresh interpretation, turning the acid mayhem up to maximum, before one of the the scenes finest young techno producers Joe Mesmar gives the track a shot of his own dark pounding techno energy, relying on wicked groove & clever production, before the acid line drops in the breakdown. 

Another Hot young thang in the scene , Dr Mabuze, is up next with a rocking & down right dirty banging percussive & hypnotic take, keeping the hooks & acid as underlying teasers. 

Chris Gavin provides a deeper trippy but energetic progressive workout and finally Alex George gives us a proper old school haunting & dare we say sinister techno turn of events!

Despite having known each other for the best part of two decades, Luke Brancaccio & Steve Parry surprisingly, didn’t actually formally meet until 2018. It will come as no surprise however to learn it was their shared passion for dance music that eventually brought them together.  
It could have all worked out differently when back in 2005, Luke didn’t make it to a gig Steve booked him for at his infamous Alderaan nights in Liverpool but that’s a story for another day and their friendship continued to flourish online, blossoming further when Selador signed one of Luke’s tracks for the label’s 5th Birthday project. 
It was around this time that the idea of a collaboration was mooted which is where our story gathers pace. The result, as you’d expect, is something special as the duo draw upon their combined wealth of DJ, clubbing and production experience to create a peak time juggernaut by the name of ‘Control Machine’.  
This straight-for-the-jugular beast is also accompanied by a rather large remix courtesy of Brazilian legend, Renato Cohen who builds upon the original’s relentless bassline adding yet more power and energy.  
Together, it’s a double barrelled weapon alert!

Since starting his career way back in 2004 Alex Kreimer is on an epic journey through various genres and festivals. The most recent stop on his quest for enormous power of happiness and joy only music can offer is this Burnerduke single.

The original starts way from the deep and then hypnotically builds itself into a grooving masterclass that leaves no stones unturned and showcases the best virtues of dance music. Introduction of lush melodies and juicy textures puts a cherry on top of this cake.

Also this time Alex doesn't travel alone and has Mariano Santos and Erik Polder for company. Mariano's take on Burnerduke is has more of an industrial hint to it, but the added roughness serves the purpose of delivering a full dancefloor experience your body will thank you for. Sharp drum sounds drowned in groovy bassline arpeggio with a little pad goodness on top — all the ingredients you need to loose yourself in this remix.

To complete the single Erik Polder takes his remix to a land of electro flavored trance. With intense strict bassline and a lead synths to envy your body is simply unable to stop moving to this classic beat. Elegant in its simplicity this work expands the genre reach of this release even further.

All in all, a very diverse, but balanced single that has will turn heads on every dancefloor.

With 'Allumine' we welcome back Dutch producer de Graaf to the label. The original version of 'Allumine' kicks things off nicely with its forlorn moodiness shining through, as we stroll effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sweltering chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth.
