Kiss the Dawn.

Happens rarely, by definition, but you know what we're talking about here.  Those occurrences in life that carry far more deep impact than might at first seem superficially to be the case.  The events that change you, unravel the neat norm and replace it with knotted uncertainty.  That which once you took for granted and did on autopilot, you now need to think about.  The seemingly mundane, the anodyne can hit hard psychologically, knock you sideways, cause you to start questioning and analysing, put you on unstable ground, shock the confidence, rock you. Damage you.  It can be a long recovery road and you usually don't get back to where you were before.

Perhaps a little faux pas;  something important you simply can't remember, try though you might;  a minor accident;  a strange, out of character outburst;  a loss.  Such experiences also lead to reflection, a re-appraisal of our values, an appreciation of what's really important.  What matters most.  The simple things.  Natural, honest things.  That which can be relied upon.  Leant upon.  Trusted.  They're few and far between.

Paco sent me some of his wonderful music and on hearing it, its hesitancy, hint of foreboding, unexpected minors, and yet, hope and uplift, I was minded of a good friend that was suffering Damage and fighting his way back.  I wrote some words to make this song for him.
