I sing the story as a proud Leylander having lived in Leyland Town for 50 years.The Town is best known for it's history in the automotive industry for producing fine lorries,trucks and buses,since the age of steam Sentinels,through Lions and Tigers,still having a large assembly plant at Leyland today. Shame about pubs shutting down,oh,and the factories too - once had 17 tall smoking chimneys and a big Gas Works!
