Barry Cochran reads and writes in St. Johns, Portland, Oregon, Cascadia with his spouse Montana, and beloved dog, Austin. He enjoys mindfulness practices, bicycling, camping and hiking, good books, and visiting other interesting places. He likes to eat experimentally and enjoys trying to educate his nieces to broaden their horizons beyond chicken strips. Barry is from a family of educators and has taught many different subjects. Barry has lived in Wichita, Kansas; Amarillo, Texas; Dallas, Texas; Austin, Texas, and now resides in Portland, Oregon. 

Barry Cochran has taught in public, private and universities for seventeen years, teaching AP English Literature, Senior, Junior, Sophomore, and Freshman high school English, English Language Learners, coaching Speech and Debate, college American History, college MS Office for Business majors, summer writing for middle school students and an ACT-SAT Prep class.

As a citizen and an educator, Barry Cochran has involved himself in civic engagement, sustainability, technology, social justice, diversity, and community outreach. In addition to being a reader, Barry is also an avid music fan who enjoys attending live shows.
