Moebius' work was a formative influence for nearly every individual member of Negativland, from the earliest additions to Mark Hosler's record collection in the 70's to Jon Leidecker's first encounters with the Cluster albums on Don's Over The Edge mixes in the mid-80's.  During one of the recording sessions for the forthcoming Negativland instrumental all-booper album, Peter Conheim and Jon Leidecker warmed up by performing this straight-up cover of the first track from the first album by Harmonia, Moebi's legendary trio with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Michael Rother.  We were far too shy to even admit that this track even existed during our meeting with Moebius.  But given the unlikely timing of
our losses last week (Moebius and Don died within days of each other in July, 2015), we offer this track now as a tribute and memorial to a man whose path we are still grateful to have crossed.

Recorded December 10th, 2012, at the Berkeley Art Museum.  Location recording by Philip Perkins with assistance from Jesse Badia.  All sounds generated by Boopers and live-sampled Boopers.

NegativWobblyland is a project featuring one half of culture-jammers Negativland and 100% of sample-melody-maven Wobbly (Jon Leidecker), from the San Francisco Bay Area. Virtually all the sounds by NegativWobblyland originate with the Booper, a hand-made feedback oscillator originally designed by Negativland member The Weatherman. Multiple boopers collide and shapeshift, creating a living music of feedback and dirt. The group plays in Amsterdam, London and Paris November 8-11.

After two releases on Abduction records and several domestic and international performances and tours, Neung Phak have returned to offer their second full-length LP. “2” is stacked high with southeast Asian pop oddities from yesterday and the day before, such as the the 1960s haunted Thai beat acid-rocker, "Nong Maew Pee (Ghost of Cat Woman)", "Sad Chatri", a centuries-old Southern Thai style laid out in sprawling psychedelic form; contemporary Thai Molam and dance hits retold in Neung Phak parlance; a stunning Indonesian pop gem, "Bang Toyib", with guest Alan Bishop (Sun City Girls) on vocals; Cambodian and Chinese instrumental dramas, the damning hit single "Fucking USA", recorded in a North Korean studio in 2005, and more.
