 Today, we are happy to welcome another great Dutch talent to our roster, a well respected and higly demanded DJ, host of the infamous Voltt clubnight and one of the main players on Amsterdam's world renowned scene: Bart Skils.
 
 With his recent, chart-topping releases on 100%% Pure, Tronic and Rejected, it"s safe to say Bart is in top-shape: On his double-A side for BNS, he pushes his signature percussive Techno-House sound to a new height. Not only the distinctive vocals but also his catchy melodic work and arrangement makes these two tracks more than just the perfect DJ-weapon, but sure shots for any modern sounding set in early 2012. Drumcode signee Marco Faraone dominated the 2017 summer season with "Desert Crash," a infectiously mysterious techno cut that got rinsed on multiple ends of the techno spectrum. Finally, widespread recognition had come to the blossoming talent, who'd been a part of the production-sphere for years beforehand.

His standards in forging heavy-hitters has not diminished, as proved by his new release on Carlo Lio's On Edge Society imprint. Its eponymous A-side "Stage Capture" opens the work up on a thunderous note, assaulting the ears with pounding drums, white noise, and robotic vocal samples that add to the tension. Though a rough ride from start to finish, the piece is well-made and futuristic to its core — perhaps another anthem in the making for Faraone.

Influential DJ, producer and label owner Adam Beyer takes to his own Drumcode imprint to deliver his latest peak-time floor-filler in the collaboration with Bart Skils titled 'Your Mind'.

If you’ve caught a set from Adam Beyer recently, chances are you remember this track causing mayhem. ‘Your Mind’ is a banging new collaboration with Dutch talent Bart Skils, and it absolutely caught the attention of his Timewarp, Awakenings and Ultra set audiences with its haunting chorus chant. 

'Your Mind' is released via Drumcode on June 18.

Acid and break beat are coming back, and that can be heard in Jam El Mar’s remix. Jam El Mar drops a snapping acid line, thick kick and has a massive pad engulfing the mix, this is a big room techno anthem with a hint of trance.

EARLIEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES?
Maybe the most important musical influence was when I first heard Jimi Hendrix’s 'Voodoo Child' and the b-side 'All Along The Watchtower’. It was a five-inch single and ended up looking like a spiral, from the number of plays it got on my turntable.

This release was the ignition to become a guitarist and a musician. When Henrix played his hi-gain sounds it has the same intensity and expression similar to that of todays techno music, I think anyway. HIs guitar didn’t sound like a guitar, and more like an electrical thunderstorm.

Later when I discovered electronic music, it was mainly Tangerine Dream that has been a strong influence and Klaus Schulze. They had this intense atmosphere that you can maybe hear on some of my older productions that I did. When I heard the early R&S Records like 'Energy Flash', ‘Metasm' and 'Acid Phase' - I was set on fire with inspiration, and still am today.
 

IDEAL SETTING TO LISTEN TO THIS?
Most likely a main room techno party dance floor, with a top-notch sound system, sweat dripping from the walls and a comet passing by. LOL. I simply love high energy moments in contrast to deep vibes in a perfect flow. ‘Snake’ has these changes from major to minor that give it a certain intensity together with that sizzling tone building up throughout.
 

FILE IT NEXT TO?
‘Snake’ sits next to my collection amongst other atmospheric tracks like ‘Sooth’ also by 2Pole or ‘Premonitions’ by Saturn Storm, not forgetting Charlotte de Witte’s ‘The Healer’.

Landing 10 years after his first concept album, Wehbba’s drops his debut full-length on Drumcode, featuring collaborations with David Caretta, Thomas Gandey and Brazilian vocalist L-cio.

Following a series of globally adored EPs and inclusions within the imprint’s esteemed A-Sides compilation series, the chart-dominating São Paulo native now reflects upon his life as ‘the artist’, offering an immersive montage of stories that echo a tenacious dedication to his craft. Enlisting the talents of multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey, Electroclash pioneer David Carretta and fellow Brazilian L-cio, with his unparalleled flute mastery, Wehbba’s synergetic cuts span the breadth of electronic music’s sonic landscape, as he challenges the notion of genres with seasoned voices.

Birthed from the purest inspiration, the album’s 13 cuts represent a myriad of musical references close to Wehbba’s heart, running parallel with the organic sensibilities of his field recordings. An ode to eternal growth, the LP highlights a cycle of perception and projection, as Wehbba studies the morphing of genres through his own musical filter. Discussing the upcoming album, Wehbba commented:

"The musical references on these works trace back to the 90s, when I started listening to electronic music and had no judgement of what was cool - when I was totally free. Following on from the geometric-led titles of his first two albums, Straight Lines and Sharp Corners alludes to the difficult decisions and blunt shifts he has faced in his career, and their capacity to shape his identity over time. Studying the great Antoni Gaudi, Wehbba’s third LP title takes reference from his perceptive quote: "There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature, therefore buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners. Anything created by human beings is already in the great book of nature."
