As one of Holland’s hottest electronic music exports, Bart’s pristinely produced brand of techno finds that rare between forward-thinking creativity and dancefloor sensibility. It’s this unique amalgamation which has led to standout releases via Break New Soil, Cocoon, Drumcode, Tronic and Rejected, while also leading him to remix top international talents Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Joris Voorn, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Nicole Moudaber. Also celebrated as a DJ, the Amsterdam resident often programs a bevy of exclusive music into his sets, perhaps none more famous than his much loved take on ‘Papua New Guinea’ by Future Sound of London. Released in 1991 by the iconic British duo and favoured by a broad selection of electronic music tastemakers, Bart took to reworking the track last year and it quickly became a highlight in his sets and those of his contemporaries, most notably Drumcode boss Adam Beyer. His reputation for tight productions gave him opportunities to work and remix artists and friends like Joris Voorn, Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Nicole Moudaber, Kaiserdisco and Kollektiv Turmstrasse. With Anton Pieete he also forms the acclaimed techno alliance District One. As one of the main players on Amsterdam’s renowned scene, their percussive take on techno and house music are well loved by many.
