“Where We Used to Be” is a country-soul heartbreak set in the only bar in town. A deep, worn-in baritone tells the story of a man stuck at the edge of the room, watching the woman he let go slow dance with someone who actually treats her right. Warm bass, steel and organ pads, and a steady barroom groove frame the scene: gravel crunching in the parking lot, a buzzing neon sign, the same old jukebox song, and a jealous heart he has to swallow instead of scream. It’s intimate, human, and painfully honest—like closing time for a love you should’ve fought harder to keep.
