                          BIOGRAPHY
Jabarr Franklin AKA Barz Damu  is an aspiring artist who enjoys his craft in every facet, takes his work very seriously, and embraces the culture of Hip Hop. Born November 24, 1987 in the Bronx along with his brother Omarr Franklin AKA Frank'o Shack moved down to the College Park suburb south of Atlanta with their northern groomed parents at the age of two who had special talents in the arts. Their father Charles Franklin was a bus driver for twenty years for the New York Transit Authority who loved to paint pictures and loved Latin music which got the twins akin to rhythm. Their mother Annette "CoCo" Franklin was a magnificent jewelry designer, clothes designer, and home decorator. The twins were influenced by their art work and they have the ability to put words together the way their parents put colors together. They grew up being well respected but outcasts to their peers because of the way they viewed the world. Their view of life put them in a peculiar position, feeling alone within their own stance and beliefs. As for Barz, it disrupted his self-esteem and wondered why the world was the way it was. In the search for answers, both brothers were able to put words together in poetic form and let out all frustrations over Hip Hop instrumentals as an outlet. Thanks to the trials and tribulations throughout the years, especially getting kicked out of college, the twins discovered that the calling the had been searching for all of these years were right under their nose....Hip Hop. They realized that their ability, charisma, content, lyricism, bluntness, originality and relevance is what the game needed. Their work consists of everyday human emotions of pain, struggle and joy.  They recite most their lyrics in a direct   hardcore manner expressing their findings from introspect, retrospect, observation, desire and contemplation from personal and universal views. They cover all subject matter including politics, racism, history, miseducation, sex, materialism, GOD, black struggle, drugs, generation Y, happiness, dreams, EVERTHING. They value coming from the soul like Tupac, Ace Hood and DMX along with many others.  They formed Mind Over Matter Muzik which started off with just the two of them and is expanding as a movement involving their nephew Shanari Scurlock AKA Caii Dream, childhood friend Kevin Woghiren AKA Oldskewl Kool, and Long beach native super producer/rapper Kopano Clay AKA  Knock Out. Barz' Influences are Tupac, Bone Thugs, Bob Marley, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill, Earth Wind and fire, TrailBlazzor, T.I., Wale, Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, J.Cole, DMX, Kool G Rap, Teddy Pendergrass, Maya Angelou, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Marvin Gaye, Lil Wayne and Lil Boosie.
