Singular Anomalies - Creativity is Intelligence Having Fun (EP) [GRETA]

Deep within the circuitry of a forgotten future, STNDRD deciphers the pulse of a machine-dominated reality. VX-404 is an encrypted transmission—fractured rhythms, mechanical decay, and unstable grooves shifting in and out of sync with time.

Across four intricate compositions, broken beats and spectral textures emerge from the void, colliding in unpredictable patterns. The structures feel volatile, like a system on the brink of collapse, yet held together by an unseen logic.

From Another Star’s first EP of 2025, Perimeter Four, creates an alliance between two techno forces spanning the globe while reaching for the cosmos.

Audio Resistance is an Italian techno producer whose catalogue stretches back to 2016, appearing on Lewis Fautzi’s Faut Section and Italian techno powerhouse Arts amongst others, and who heads his own Collapse imprint featuring work from noted producers and emerging names. Starting off his side with a nonstandard rhythmic frame, ‘Trappist’ uses the extra beats to build solidity, with reverberating zaps steadily circling around pillars of bass & kicks while uneasy atmospheric washes waft between the other elements. ‘Umami’ reels in the wayward impulses for more traditional techno structures, concentrating on dense, dystopian synth arrangements and subtle changes in percussion to drive it to a haunting conclusion.

A core artist on Richie Hawtin’s 2023 From Our Minds tour whose work has been featured on Glasgow legends Slam’s radio mix series and earned him a pair of EP releases on respected veteran Edit Select’s eponymous, long-running imprint, Declan James’ discography stretches back to 2016 and presents a futuristic, transfixing take on hypnotic, industrial and IDM-leaning techno, often found on his own Voidware label. More space-searching than Cronenbergian bloodbath, ‘Scanners’ applies classic techno ideas in a smooth arrangement for an outward-bound transmission. For the the EP’s title track, we find his dense, dark style in full effect, a murky low end and strange, intermittent echoed snare hits gradually building with bleeps and synth layers to a peak-time intensity even in its decidedly unsquared meter.
