OH MY GOD. Did this just happen guys? After 17 years of absence from the DJ booth, two months ago i decided to pick up DJing again and here i am again playing my first live set at a festival with an amazing crowd! Because of sheer coincidence, a cancelled paragliding trip, my buddy Eltjo and myself decided to help prepare the festival grounds on friday, amongst other things i did some soundchecking on all the stages, fixed some problems and got to know the new gear, just playing for the technicans around, which was a treat all by itself. And then on saturday the festival opened, i was there as a visitor, having a great time but of course with my music on me... just because. Then early evening it felt like the sky opened up, a light shined on my bald head and i was given a slot at the secret stage! 

For over one and a half hour -the best hours of my life- i gave it my all and it was absolutely awesome! The people kept pouring in, the vibe was so real, the energy was sweet and intense. Wow. I got so many questions during and afterwards of all those lovely people, who are you? whats your next festival? will you be here next year? at what club do you reside? I am humbled by all the attention and heartwarming compliments. All i can say is: I AM BACK. I am making plans, i am available for bookings, looking for great parties! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for enjoying this extremely special moment with me, it was an honour being MR DJ again! This is the live recording of that set at De Weide Festival 2023, i did not get the first few minutes on record, thats why this set starts a bit abrupt, i got some help finding the record button a few minutes into the set.

Live @ De Weide Festival, Alkmaar - June 17th 2023

At Dushi Curacao, i did my first gig outside the Netherlands and the first with an MC! I was invited by the magnetic people of "Zonnig & Sappig" to be part of the lineup of a boat/beachparty at Fuik bay. The vibe was awesome, happy faces all around! Imagine big smiles, vibing bodies, tropical drinks, swimwear, white beaches, palmtrees yachts and jetski's, and you're there with us.

Live @ Zonnig & Sappig, Curacao - July 23rd

Opening at the amazing Club Atelier was an absolute blast. Met lots of great people and the vibe was awesome. The legendary yearly KLM Flightcrew party called "Europafeest" was themed Candyland... man did i see a lot of candy. 

With this gig my list of firsts goes on... this was the first official lineup i was part of in 17 years wohooo! And this is the first set EVER in which i played some afro house. I think the percussion lines and swing rhythm goes great together with the deeper house vibes. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Live @ Club Atelier Amsterdam // Candyland - Sept 7th

Autumn is setting in here at the northern hemispere, time to bring you some warm vibes. For this set i included mostly fresh releases combined with some classic tracks. I included the captivating Patched by Aname, god these guys keep dropping bombs! Let me know if you would like a track list, i'll make one.

Back at it #3 - Melodic, Afro and Progressive

My debut at this awesome club downtown Amsterdam! Fantastic sound, lighting and decor. Such a stylish club, was a pleasure to play here. Opening for Lendya's new recurring ICI party, i start this one of with some more melodic and organic house, going to progressive with some afro and transitioning into some tech. Live @ Club Maïa Amsterdam // ICI - November 10th

This was my first time playing here, surrounded by loads of friends and supporters from all over the country … for my first edition of “Deeper”. I had the honor of playing an extended set and It was a great night, super vibes and so much love. Since this was a walk in club night, without ticket sales, I went a bit left and right with the tracks to keep the dancefloor filled, which worked great. So the flow is a bit different than what you’ll hear me play at regular club events or my “back at it series”, but nonetheless this was an amazing night. My debut at Komm Schon Alter: Das Festival. What an experience! My mind is blown... i am so happy, energized and grateful. So much love and energy in the crowd ❤️ I felt carried up high by all my supporting friends and the hundreds of dancers that showed up 🔥. Weather was amazing 🌞

I talk a lot normally, but now... i feel speechless. Thankyouthankyouthankyou. Just 11 months ago i got back to DJing, after a 17 year break. To now already be playing a festival of this quality, vibe and size is a dream come true.

Live @ Komm Schon Alter Festival - Amsterdam, May 18th

My first back to back set in over 20 years meant closing at this amazing party, vibing behind the decks with my buddy Gaby a.k.a. G.A.B.Y who invited me to cover for Jan with whom he forms Around Us. We had so much fun, as did the people dancing!  I am stoked with the support Around Us has been giving me the past months in rebooting my DJ career and now out of the blue came this invite from them to play mini-Jan ;) ABSOLUTELY loved every minute of it, think we did a very solid set. So yeah, this is a bit of a detour from my usual sound, which is leaning more towards melodic house & techno... but loving the sights and sounds on the way! Love to hear your thoughts and feels!

Live B2B with G.A.B.Y @ De Jungle // June 8th CLOSING

This was such an awesome night! With our Vroeg Clubben concept we hosted a stage at the Deventer Stadsfestival, a 10k+ visitor festival with a very broad range of music for the whole family. This is where i recorded this opening set. Its progressive/organic with a tad of afro, love blending these different styles. It was so much fun having people come up to the booth and asking us "what is this type of music called??" Thats one of the advantages of playing at a "mainstream" festival, that we as DJ's get the opportunity to showcase the music we love to an audience that would otherwise never come in contact with it.

Don't you love it when things come full circle!? Last year I was part of the volunteer crew at this amazing boutique Festival. Met lots of wonderful people whom I now call friends and colleagues. To be opening the very welcoming "living room" stage this edition, was a blast! At 11 in the morning, this one was filled with happy, dancing souls.

Closing main stage Vroeg Clubben with this 2 hour set was amazing! I had so much fun blending progressive and melodic together. Thanks for all your heartwarming responses during and after.
