last saturday nite in Amsterdam Rush Hour Music invited 
Traxx to Doka playing from start to end for 8 hours 
{150 person capacity/maximum vibes}

the demonstration for Doka was the 3rd exclusive 
edition of dirtyblends entitled: ⚙️🎛 TecHnique ⚙️🎛 
further showcasing musical blueprints of all rare chicago 
tracks both old and new, plus many NEW tracks unheard 
from dirtyblends along with raw disco, funk and edits all 
over and in between like the days of old in chicago diving 
deep into the ghosts of Ron Hardy at the Music Box, 
Liaisons Dangereuses at the Hacienda, NEW music 
from Nation and Kode plus INSANE unreleased treasures 
from Prince come together to raise the room’s musical 
temperature and awareness that was a self-evident 
spiritual experience, illumination, truth, emotional depth 
and suspension of time.

this demonstration has lots of new music to come from several 
releases we won’t announce just yet but what has been provided 
in this document is hours upon hours that is literally all over the 
rhythm 🎵 scales ⚖️

this was an intimate connection to the dance floor..

The Jak Presents DirtybLends Demonstration III: Technique

Lena Willikens doesn’t play the hits. When she’s behind the decks, even her biggest fans often have no idea exactly what she’s playing, and that’s part of the magic. Like all DJs, Willikens of course has a passion for records, but she’s also after something bigger, something that’s truly transportive for those on the dancefloor.

Born and raised in Germany, Willikens first honed her unique approach during a long residency at Düsseldorf’s beloved Salon des Amateurs. These days, however, she’s based in Amsterdam, where her transportative impulses have been plugged into a variety of outlets with a global reach. On the radio, she pilots the monthly Lightning Conductor program on NTS. On record, she recently curated the fifth installment of Dekmantel’s acclaimed Selectors compilation series, and she’s also been tapped to remix the likes of Lena Platonos, S U R V I V E, rRoxymore, Simian Mobile Disco and Ana Helder, amongst others. On stage, Willikens works with artist Sarah Szczesny on Phantom Kino Ballett, an immersive audio-visual performance art project that defies routine explanation.

Still, it’s in the DJ booth where Willikens continues to make the biggest impact. Whether she’s playing alone or in tandem with fellow sonic explorer and Salon des Amateurs alum Vladimir Ivkovic, Willikens nimbly navigates electronic music’s darkest and most bizarre corners, sampling different temperatures, different moods and a dollop of chaos, just to keep things interesting. And although she herself doesn’t always know the final destination, when Willikens is at the helm, there’s no question that the journey is bound to be thrilling.

This allowed me to play without having the "post live" experience in mind, so it's really honest and raw. The energy was super nice and I have reconnected with a lot of parisian friends at this party !

Musically it's a compilation of my summer favourites, including a bunch of very different genres as always : post punk, sexy house, industrial, amapiano, you name it !

Hi and Welcome to Italo Moderni Mixes

The moment arrived! Today the wizard Intergalactic Gary @intergalactic_gary lands on Italo Moderni with a cult mystic mix for our series. 

The Dutch West Coast scene is as fabled as Detroit techno and Chicago house. And Intergalactic Gary − a DJ for 35 years − has been involved with it since day one. The cult selector had a residency at The Hague's first ever house club in 1992 and since then has honed a style that has lead the legendary I-F to call him ‘terminator’ such is the focus he has on the decks.
Whether working you into a trance or keeping you guessing with improbable bridges between raw acid, 70s Italo or fresh techno, he's a flawless, instinctive DJ who is predictably unpredictable. Whether new or old, Gary doesn't care, “as long as it has character and something interesting going on that grabs the attention."
In the studio he’s laid down mutant, disco-tinged electro as The Parallax Corporation and electro and ambient synth pop soundtracks as The Conservatives, both with I-F. He's also recently collaborated with Pasiphae on Bio Rhythm, and for Stroboscopes and Smokemachines, a new documentary about underground electronic music. He aims simply to make music he would want to hear on a night out and imbues his work with a sense of melancholy, but always paired with driving dance floor dynamics that mix up analogue and digital textures. 
A regular at Dekmantel both in Amsterdam and Selectors in Croatia, he has also played China, Australia and Japan, Unsound in Krawkow and the No Way Back Afterparty in Detroit. Only the classiest DJs play these parties; they have hardcore crowds who have high expectations, and Intergalactic Gary is someone who cannot fail to win over even the most hard to impress crowds thanks to the unique craft of his art.

IM MIX 103: Intergalactic Gary

The venerable Dark Entries celebrates it’s 300th release with Panoramic Coloursound, a triple LP from the Creative Technology Consortium. Traxx, Andrew Bisenius, and Jason Letkiewicz forged the CtC during the depths of pandemic isolation. Drawing from film and television music of the 80’s/90’s and armed with a mighty array of vintage analog and digital synthesizers, they set out to explore heists, vices, and catastrophe. Panoramic Coloursound collapses sound and image into a neon blur throughout its 25 tracks.
While retro scores were the starting point for the CtC, the project does more than pay dutiful homage — these notes are warped and skewed, devolving into decaying digital soundscapes. EBM-inflected basslines pop up on tracks like “Catastrophe” and “A Retro Vice”, menacing numbers that recall Traxx and Letkiewicz’s legendary work as Mutant Beat Dance (a project also featuring Beau Wanzer). “Follow Our Kode” pairs heroic synths with funky bass, striking cosmic chords akin to the material that Traxx and Bisenius have released as An Anomaly. Krautrock-esque guitars slide along anthemic pads on “Beautifully Polluted Sunset”, which comes across like an alien Miami Vice closing theme. The CtC channel corroded VHS vibes while making music for the future. Panoramic Coloursound was mastered by Frédéric Alstadt. The sleeve was designed by Eloise Leigh, and features a photograph by Jason Letkiewicz. Also included is a postcard featuring liner notes, a gear list, and a photograph by Maria Tzeka
