This is one of my earliest creations that I have gone back to and re-created/remastered. Very simple chillwave/downtempo type track that is purposefully repetitive and hypnotic. Intended to have a "lullaby" type effect for chilling out or sleeping. 

Dream Frequency

As My Friend Dario's last album Senza Estate soundtracks another summer, Hell Yeah return to it for a new package featuring the single 'Marittimo' in original form, as an album mix, and with a remix from Eddie C.

'Marittimo' is named after the monthly summer party Dario hosts at Pazmaya in Focallo. It's a loose and exotic rhythm built on elastic drums and peppered with toms, hits, bird calls and shakers. Subtle chords dance up top and fleshy bass is offset by freeform wooden melodies that bring a perfectly organic and sun-baked sound.

The remix comes from Canadian disco master and Red Motorbike label boss Eddie C, who turns up the heat and builds the tempo. His loopy mix is heavier, with chord stabs and big drum energy serving up a steamy main dish to get the dance floor full up.

This is another delicious taste of My Friend Dario's irresistible full length.

Here's my entry for the Shindig competition!

As the weather has been so lovely and sunny up here in Manchester for a change, I was really feeling some chunky summer vibes in this mix, so that exactly what I threw together.

Full of pumping head bopping beats and groovy basslines to start any summer evening :)

Qdup returns to Fort Knox Recordings with a new single first imagined on the Playa at Burning Man. During his first trip to Black Rock City Qdup performed a special hip-hop showcase at Funky Town and invited MC’s to rock his set and bring the cypher to the desert. San Francisco b-girl and Hip-Hop aficionado Awoke was one of the MC’s that appeared out of the dust and blessed the mic that afternoon and caught the ears of the crowd, inspiring this collaboration. “Sonic Drop” captures the fun of that impromptu Hip-Hop jam in the desert. This tune pops and locks from start to finish, with an infectious vibe that invites the party to get down on the dancefloor like Awoke and Qdup did that day!
The track is all about Awoke’s flow as she says “Feel it deep inside and when the DJ starts to vibe, I’ll be the first one in line, straight Salt-N-Pepa pushin’.” It’s time to push it real good, so get on the dancefloor and push it when the DJ drops this cut! Qdup’s tight beats, 808 boom and bass-laden production set the tone as Awoke’s concise party raps direct the dancefloor to drop it like it’s hot. Put this on as a sure-fire way to get booties moving and create a Sonic Drop on the dance floor.

Los Angeles based producer Nick Alvarado and vocalist EVeryman have teamed to form Little Giants, who aim to make proper hip-hop music for your mind, body and soul. Pairing inspired, thought-provoking lyrics set over crisp, funky beats, the sounds of Little Giants harken back to the golden era of hip-hop. This release commemorates the memory of Nick 'Pumpkin' Alvarado, who touched thousands of people with his signature music productions and acclaimed DJ sets at top music festivals and clubs across the US and abroad. He tragically passed away on March 25th 2016, but his generous spirit and magical music will continue to live on.

To honor his memory, Nick's best friend and Little Giants production partner, Evan 'Everyman' Shafran, started The Little Giant Acorn Foundation for The Arts, a non-profit organization that helps children get started in music or the performing arts who otherwise could not afford to do so. Nick absolutely loved to share his passion for music and performance art with the next generation and nothing gave him more joy.
