Really excited to finally get this remix out. Don Diablo was the first to support it on Hexagon Radio a few months ago, and since then there's been a lot of people asking about it, so i'm really pumped that its finally here. I took a bit of a different approach when remixing this one, i actually hadn't heard the original track. Vicetone sent me the vocal stem and i loved it, so instead of even listening to the original track, I just dropped the vocal into a project and started working on it. Hope you enjoy!

A bit about the track from me... 
Thewz was actually my roommate at NYU, and after we both moved out, a few weeks later he sent me a three minute long acapella, of him singing and rapping. I liked it a lot (obviously) so I cut up his words and re pitched, timed, and tuned them for him to re perform it, so it fit what I was working on...and that's kind of how 'Heartbeat Darkside' came to life. 

To me it's a really special one because, we've all been in relationships with people where you are skeptical of the persons love and intent, yet you're sure they are too, but at the end of the day/night you end up close enough just listening 'to the sound of [their] heart beat'

Additional thanks to @republicrecords and @casablancarecords for putting this out. This track and all others on the EP will be available 10/9 on all major digital outlets.

Heartbeat: Darkside (feat. Thewz)

Reworking any Nirvana track is a risky business – akin to tampering with a musical holy grail – but when it’s done well it can create a truly mind-blowing piece of house music, which is exactly what South African duo Goldfish have done with “Heart Shaped Box”.

Already winning a swathe of top flight DJ support, the remake features 18-year-old Cape Town native Julia Church on vocals and sees Dom Peters and Dave Poole crafting a new future house-influenced bass line to their trademark sound of organic instrumentals. Her mature voice lilts effortlessly over muted organs and swelling synths, giving the lyrics body and strength that work with, not against, full-bodied piano and saxophone sections.
