The gospel of grace is a scandalous concept as it takes a child of hell and transforms him into a child of the king.  It is in no way deserved and is not fair at all.  It sets us free from the yoke of legalism but brings us there through the pathway of deep humility.  This week on the podcast we will hear from someone who once rose up to a place of prominence among the Evangelical community but then sank into the depths of its judgment because of his own horrible sin.  Yet, in the midst of this he came face-to-face with the grace of God he had taught for so long. Earlier this month I was privileged enough to attend the Doctrine and Devotion Conference once again. This time I had a chance to record a few quick interview. I ask Joe Thorn to advise the “Lonely Calvinist.” I talk to Barnabas Piper about reading habits. Dr. Jim Hamilton was kind enough to tell me about the dangers of not having a coherent Biblical theology. I was also able to chat with representatives from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and International Reformed Baptist Seminary.

I was saddened to hear of the death of apologist and theologian Norman Geisler. Though I would disagree with some of his material, he was a defender of the faith and greatly used of God.
