And as the sea is constantly changing its movement affected by the Sun and the Moon, the homonymous “Adriatico” track comes in various forms moved by multiple forces: the track appears in a dub mix that makes our souls vibrate and also in a downtempo atmospheric remix by the head honcho of Studio Barnhus Axel Boman and in a more dancefloor oriented by the iconic Dutch Dj Tom Trago. This is a real tribute to a never-ending Italian spirit!

For our ninth offering we are delighted to welcome Lisbon based artist Larry Quest to the label. Larry is an astute producer adaptable to varying styles, strong in musicality and a particular flair for soulful, jazzy touches and classy deep house music. For the ‘Mystery Herd’ release we are treated to an EP richly inspired by the natural world and the colors within. Venus Girdle enjoys ethereal pads, a strong but distant kick and swelling percussion. Asian butterfly Alpine Black Swallowtail informs the next track, with its mountainous field-recording, gentle arpeggios and harmony of pads. Haliotis reverb swelling pads represent the waves, the synths and percussion, the spume and the bass groove embodying the sea. Nicobarica is a cool organic track with beautifully played keys, live guitar licks and a breezy rhythm section complete with rolling percussion all combining making for an infectious groove.

At the beginning of the ‘90s a new music wave was emerging in Italy. Inspired by an innate sense of freedom and experimentation and fuelled by the turmoil of the club scene and record shops, a generation of Italian DJs and producers envision the sound of the future.
 
Going further into connecting Two Generations, distant yet neighbouring: the one that blazed the trail in the early nineties and the one that continues to follow it today. A new volume animated by the same spirit and attitude as the first one: not a nostalgic or commemorative operation, but a propulsive thrust for a possible evolution.
 
In continuity with the first part of the project, ‘Ciao Italia. Underground Generations - Volume 2’ surfs between the past, present and future, delving further into the origins of an era whose sounds and atmospheres remain an endless source of inspiration today. Artists who were often forced to use multiple aliases, a story that still sounds incredibly current and that has had the merit of breaking that stereotype of xenophilia of which our country is an undying victim. Much more than just a "scene" it can be described as a mental state, a lifestyle, marked by unifying electronic pulsations, exotic and dreamy, ecstatic and liberating.
 
The collection, of which a second double volume is expected before the end of the year, cherry picks another selection of seminal producers of that all-Italian golden age. Alongside this, it includes productions from some of the new ‘Underground Generation’, ideally inspired by the iconic sound of that time, but at the same time kaleidoscopic and ultra-contemporary. Evidence of an avant-garde that is bright and alive not only in memories, but even now more than ever, in the tracks produced by the likes of Baia Club (Whodamanny, Walter Del Vecchio and Dario Bassolino), Cosmo, Donato Dozzy & Rumi, Lorenzo Morresi and many more.
 
Once again, while the record slides under the needle, the hope is to be able to capture that magnetic atmosphere and regain possession of it for a few moments, clinging to the indomitable charm of the ‘underground’ grooves. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Among those who have written the history of the Italian House is certainly Carlo Troja, aka Don Carlos. In 1991 Irma Records released her first single Alone which immediately became a cult record for DJs across the Channel and especially American DJs. Its particular soft and ambient sounds defined a genre that was then called Paradise House. And it is precisely from this genre and from this Dj that Irma Records began the celebrations of its thirtieth anniversary a few years ago by proposing a selection of its catalog chosen by Don Carlos, trying to dig among some of the pearls of the genre but above all among some songs that featured in his evenings but were less popular at the time of their release. This compilation had a great response and it was decided to make a volume 2, always selected by Don Carlos. Also this compilation, like the first one, consists of two compact discs and a vinyl version this time with a selection of only 8 of the 20 tracks contained in the CD and Digital version. All the tracks on the double vinyl have been re-edited by Don Carlos for the occasion. The double cd is in a limited numbered edition. Among the artists and producers included are: Don Carlos, Lust Unlimited, Subsonic Posse, T.M.V. (Marco Trani, Moz-Art and Maurizio Verbeni), The Sweatbox Orchestra, Aritmya, Deep Aural Penetration, Be Noir, Love Nation, More Heavy Soul, Outdance, F.I.T.Z. and many others.

Italo-House classic “Tumbe” released in 1992 on Irma Records with Murk edits is here again with new fresh remixes.
Cesare Collina aka Tito Valdez and Umberto Damiani join forces 30 years ago to make “The big nowhere” version; with percussions played by Cesare, tropical voices and trancy pads.
On the remixes duties we have legendary Riviera hero Ricky Montanari, Dirty grooves master LTJ and the young House head Hill.
Ricky found an unreleased remix jam of “Tumbe” he did in the 90s with his classic Riviera Traxx groove which doesn’t need any presentation.
LTJ made a slow version with his unique beat, accompanied by atmospheric pads, lovely electric guitar riff and classic Rhodes.
Hill made a Paradise mix with dreamy Pianos, funky bassline and old school strings which goes to close this record in the best way.
