Long awaited reissue of the highly sought after debut EP from Future Sound of Melbourne (FSOM), now released by Madrid-based label Glossy Mistakes under the dancefloor oriented series Glossyfloor. 

Originally released in 1992, this EP delivers a collection a rave infused bangers with hints of Breakbeat, Chicago House and riding Techno. The all-time favorite “Barefoot in Sidney” gets revisited by Kornél Kovács with a more straight-forward and euphoric approach. Along with the two peak hour blenders, B side comes with an effervescent and powerful remix of “Raving Mad” by the Spanish duo part of Ears on Earth, BF Treatment. Must!

Remastered by Damian Schwartz and comes as a very limited edition.

PF003 // Adriatic 90s nostalgia rages on the sound of PF003 made by Dirty Channels teaming up with the master of italo/dream house Don Carlos. A 4 tracks EP with two original mixes: while Adriatico recalls that dreamlike atmosphere through the vocal “paradise”, Tirreno is a fat crowd shaker tune.
And as the sea is constantly changing its movement affected by the Sun and the Moon, the homonymous “Adriatico” track comes in various forms moved by multiple forces: the track appears in a dub mix that makes our souls vibrate and also in a downtempo atmospheric remix by the head honcho of Studio Barnhus Axel Boman and in a more dancefloor oriented by the iconic Dutch Dj Tom Trago. This is a real tribute to a never-ending Italian spirit!

At the beginning of the ‘90s a new music wave was emerging in Italy. Inspired by an innate sense of freedom and experimentation and fuelled by the turmoil of the club scene and record shops, a generation of Italian DJs and producers envision the sound of the future.
 
Going further into connecting Two Generations, distant yet neighbouring: the one that blazed the trail in the early nineties and the one that continues to follow it today. A new volume animated by the same spirit and attitude as the first one: not a nostalgic or commemorative operation, but a propulsive thrust for a possible evolution.
 
In continuity with the first part of the project, ‘Ciao Italia. Underground Generations - Volume 2’ surfs between the past, present and future, delving further into the origins of an era whose sounds and atmospheres remain an endless source of inspiration today. Artists who were often forced to use multiple aliases, a story that still sounds incredibly current and that has had the merit of breaking that stereotype of xenophilia of which our country is an undying victim. Much more than just a "scene" it can be described as a mental state, a lifestyle, marked by unifying electronic pulsations, exotic and dreamy, ecstatic and liberating.
 
The collection, of which a second double volume is expected before the end of the year, cherry picks another selection of seminal producers of that all-Italian golden age. Alongside this, it includes productions from some of the new ‘Underground Generation’, ideally inspired by the iconic sound of that time, but at the same time kaleidoscopic and ultra-contemporary. Evidence of an avant-garde that is bright and alive not only in memories, but even now more than ever, in the tracks produced by the likes of Baia Club (Whodamanny, Walter Del Vecchio and Dario Bassolino), Cosmo, Donato Dozzy & Rumi, Lorenzo Morresi and many more.
 
Once again, while the record slides under the needle, the hope is to be able to capture that magnetic atmosphere and regain possession of it for a few moments, clinging to the indomitable charm of the ‘underground’ grooves. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Italo-House classic “Tumbe” released in 1992 on Irma Records with Murk edits is here again with new fresh remixes.
Cesare Collina aka Tito Valdez and Umberto Damiani join forces 30 years ago to make “The big nowhere” version; with percussions played by Cesare, tropical voices and trancy pads.
On the remixes duties we have legendary Riviera hero Ricky Montanari, Dirty grooves master LTJ and the young House head Hill.
Ricky found an unreleased remix jam of “Tumbe” he did in the 90s with his classic Riviera Traxx groove which doesn’t need any presentation.
LTJ made a slow version with his unique beat, accompanied by atmospheric pads, lovely electric guitar riff and classic Rhodes.
Hill made a Paradise mix with dreamy Pianos, funky bassline and old school strings which goes to close this record in the best way.

RELEASE HYPE:
The release kicks off with the hypnotic ‘I Do Me’. The track rolls effortlessly into a crescendo of synthetic stabs, panning acid and a throbbing bass fit for Goa. Starting off with a bang, we roll into the breakbeat inflected ‘Kotanyi’. We’re treated to more psychedelic, progressive goodness with a slightly more brooding tone. Subtle keys lighten the track’s final stanza giving it serious sunrise set potential. B1 gives us the colourful ‘Thanks For Calling’. Swirling bleeps and descending acid lines contrast the records balearic sensibilities setting the tone nicely for the Ice Cream side of Semi Delicious’ 13th outing. ‘You Do You’ brings with it broken beats, a top line akin to golden era Italian house and more citrus-y undertones that characterise the record. ‘Shapeshifter’ wraps up the affair with a bang employing an almost speed garage-esque low end below the psychedelic symphony of extraterrestrial sonics dancing above.

Jackuzzi (@jack_vh) takes up the next spot in our Hot Series. This jack-of-all-trades has embodied a varied but consistent sound throughout the years, with most of his inspirations coming from digging in some of our local record shops. Next to being a part of the Ezekiel Soundsystem DJ collective, he is also the founder of the Ezekiel 25:17 party concept. Apart from his collective, Jackuzzi distinguishes himself with his solo act, favoring a trip to the more progressive and minimalistic sides of the musical spectrum. Feeling a mutual connection through sound, our next guest didn’t hesitate to take part in the next Hot Series. 

After our first Hotbox night at Onder Stroom, a more mellow side of the Hotbox is explored in our sixth installment of the series. It starts off slow and catches you by surprise, slowly descending into the deeper territories… Jackuzzi goes through different genres, showcasing his recent diggs and current favorites. One hour of carefully selected records from his wax collection. PREMIERE: Ewan Jansen - Electropolis [R.A.N.D. Muzik]

Star Creature’s Global Caress series launches it’s 4th Outing with a giant 12” from a giant hero of the underground. The Chicago based label teased a very interesting 7” earlier this year that seemed to disappear from shops immediately thanks to its release at Detroit’s Movement Festival where Byron The Aquarius and label-head Tim Zawada were both gigging and circulating heavily. This 12” EP expands quite a bit with 6 tracks exploring Byron’s love of unique melodies and hypnotic rhythms built to move the body while transporting the mind. Hard hitting underground house meets techno with spirit of soul, skill of jazz and swing of hip hop.
