Today we’re seeing a in-house collaboration titled Murmuration being released by @mvlimusic and @raapolo For those of you that’s been a part of the movement you might remember MVLI and if not, I truly recommend to listen through his previous catalogue. I teamed up with Oh, My to speak a bit about how it all happened and his own inspiration for ‘Murmuration’.

My collaboration with MVLI started with me vividly remembering how I listened to “Summevening” (by MVLI) on repeat on the subway to work in the morning when it was released, and I thought it was incredibly good. It was truly a release that I remember so well and that played on repeat, so releasing a song together with MVLI 6.5 years later feels very nice.

Regarding the inspiration, I received a really nice composition with many instruments from MVLI, and my vision was to make everything sound soulful and live, but at the same time have the beat elements in place with heavy drums and elements of vocal chops and some looping elements as well.

For his new album "City" (forthcoming on Naim Label) Stuart McCallum steps even further into the world of electronica, whilst still maintaining that magical combination of both acoustic and electronic instruments that gives his music such a distinctive sound.

The guitarist/composer from Manchester made the decision to bring in London-based drummer/producer, Richard Spaven, who he met during his time playing with Cinematic Orchestra. All tracks are co-written by Stuart McCallum and Richard Spaven apart from the title track City, which we so proudly premiere on Soundcloud today.
