Following notable releases from Baroque Sunburst's co-founder Soreab, Big Hands and Maxwell Simons, Milan-based imprint Beat Machine prepare to release the thirteenth instalment of their 'Swinging Flavors' series, highlighting Kyoto-based producer Naco...Our pick for the premiere is 'Wavefunk'. Kicking off with an arsenal of feverish percussions and ultra-filtered basslines, the track quickly shifts into a momentum of space-delayed vocals, syncopated amen breaks and highly-infectious basslines evoking neo-acid wanders through long-forgotten concrete monuments, stranding listeners in the electro district at the midsection.

New York based artist Ma Sha has unveils four mind-warping, club-ready hitters in her ‘Pull to Stop’ EP, marking her Steel City Dance Discs debut.

Ma Sha’s influences for this record range from the personal to the cityscape, highlighting a deep connection with both internal focus and the constant energy of New York. Ma Sha crafts her sound by filtering through the sensory elements of public spaces. This ability to "zone in" is coupled with a commitment to recycling older musical ideas, giving them new life and perspective. It’s her emotional reconnection with New York, combined with the city's fast-paced nature that perfectly captures the essence of a life in perpetual motion. "It’s about reconnecting with the surrounding energy and my own, turning the familiar into something entirely new for me," - Ma Sha explains.

'Sirens in the Deep' is the lovechild of a live jam session at Rackz282’s studio between Rackz282 and @eyezabsc. The session was recorded in late September 2023, to then be moulded and shaped from stems into two individual yet single source tracks, showing both artist’s approach at the medium.

'Using the same base material, this EP is an exploration of each artist’s approach and perspective on a condensation of hardware stems and sounds. Sirens in the Deep explores long and progressive motifs that evolve, twist, turn and intensifiy throughout; reflecting the fathomless depths of the creative process.'

Typeless returns for its 11th release, featuring the talents of Pluralist and Obake in a standout 2-track EP. Bristol-based Pluralist builds on a successful year by collaborating with the enigmatic Obake, a pseudonym for a renowned producer. Together, they deliver a cohesive release, merging their unique ideas into two powerful, club-ready tracks.

Starting off with ‘Giggle’, the track slowly introduces the complex rhythms that dominate this release, defining the sound of both producers. Fast-paced drums and broken beats surround the track, retaining our attention in all parts with its hypnotising elements and maintaining the established Typeless sound we all know.

‘Siren’ sets a sci-fi soundscape with its low, darker introduction. Delving into deeper tones, this track builds on the broken-beats heard throughout, but layers low-end atmospheric tones to maintain a steady, energetic vibe. A track that makes a welcome addition in the club, its depth provides a heavy mannered backdrop to build on.
