Rise of the Dawn // Vinylset

After one of the literally roughest nights in ages, we somehow managed to survive another foggy evening in Jena. Luckily the fog machine helped to acclimatize to the city’s contemporary vibe. Being barley able to see the DJ desk Bassick and myself actually made the best out of the situation and ruined the set to perfection. 

Since we’re full-blown professionals, we didn’t even practice once, but decided to do it regardless. The result is actually not too horrible, don’t mind any minor inconveniences here and not there. We didn’t intend the set as a casual back to back, we thought more of an easy going approach. The idea was that I’ll do the mixing and Bassick takes care of the scratching. Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? In the end this worked out nicely. Bassick also brought in some tracks that clearly enriched the set a lot! He accidently played the unofficial Jena Hardcore anthem nobody knew it ever existed before. I hope you can spot it towards the end of the set.

Thanks for that night, it was rockier than I hoped it to be, but in the end, I’m glad a few people showed up to witness some proper madness! I think I speak for everyone who participated that this was next level shit again. All the acts – crew and dancers – did an amazing job and I’m very thankful that you all came to support the least successful hardcore crew of Jena.
