It's Tuesday, and that means new music! This week, we have G-Cord making his first appearance on the show with an emotionally charged trip. I'll let the man himself introduce the mix for you:

I originally made this mix right at the beginning of lockdown when things were very tense/scared and people were rapidly trying to adjust. I set out to create a mix that evoked an opposing vibe to what I felt society was currently experiencing. I wanted to convey a sense of peace, healing, natural growth, relaxation, and love. This mix begins slowly, plodding along in the low 120 bpm area, and builds gradually, finding its crescendo in Format:B and Pleasurekraft's "Coltrane" which contains a speech expounding on the need to love oneself.

Lunar Expressions | 034 - G-Cord

Bassarid is a Charlotte, NC based DJ known for taking his audience on a journey through tribal house, funky minimal, deep tech, and hypnotic downtempo grooves. His sound also draws influence from dnb, jazz, bass, hip hop, disco, jungle, dub, ambient, psychedelic and world music. His multi-genre sets seamlessly weave these complementary, and sometimes contradictory elements into a unique, handcrafted story finely-tuned to fit the setting at hand.

Originally from Boston, he first began running music and lights for private parties in 2009. After moving down to the Queen City in 2012, he was adopted by a group of old school ravers, burners, and DJs who plugged him into the local music scene. Hooked on the underground sound, Greg soon found himself behind the decks at regional events. He has since played clubs, burns, and festival stages from Michigan to Miami, and he throws parties with the ChEM Lab crew in Charlotte.
