This was from a gig I did back on 6-10-09 @ Arlene's Grocery, here in NYC.
I was performing with a band I was in while attending the Institute of Audio Research, called HYBRID. We named ourselves HYBRID because the band members were a combo of students and instructors. I was on bass, one guitarist and keyboardist were students, and the other guitarist/singer and drummer were instructors of mine.
That was def a great night and fun gig.

The show was recorded that night. 
I happened to get my hands on the multi-tracks, and mixed our performance.

Clock Work (Demo)

I recently made a "Beat It" remix...So I figured I'd try another MJ song, and actually cover it.
This is def one of my top favs from my childhood. And I don't even mean the cover Alien Ant Farm did.
The original is by far still the best. It just has that signature MJ groove. Gotta love it. And the drummer is sick. It's a simple drum pattern but his hi-hat work is awesome.
I programmed the drums as close as I could to get that groove. Of course it's not possible to program a real living drummer's feel, lol.
Now I know the funky guitar solo is missing, but I figured I'd leave it that way.
Maybe one day I'll finally do it, but for now this is the final version.

Haven't posted any music in awhile.
I've had this riff in my head for months. Finally laid it down to see what it sounds like as a whole with a "band". Not bad at all. Now to try to make an actual song around it. As usual...We'll see whenever that happens 🤣🤷🏾‍♂️.

I was blown away and was instantly in love with it.
I just had to work on it, in terms of at least adding drums and a bassline.
This is what I came up with.
I also added some Mortal Kombat sound clips to spice it up (He has a Raiden look going on in the video).

So just to make it clear...This is def not an original song by me.
This is Ewan's song. He's playing guitar. All I did was make a "remix" by adding the drums, bass, and sound clips. It's a collaboration.

They're a Metallica Tribute band based in Staten Island, who focus solely on the 1st 4 albums.

KILL 'EM ALL: NYC's Finest Metallica Tribute Band (Promo)

Over the yrs I've seen a lot of people covering the theme to GHOSTBUSTERS.
Some were pretty cool, and some were eh.
I've noticed no one has ever truly captured the vibe of the original.
I recently heard the Hoobastank version (which they came out with in 2009), and thought ok...As a GB fan, I really need to cover this song already to do this 80's classic some justice.
So back in October 2010, I figure I'd make a cool up-to-date Hard Rock D standard tuning "In Ur Face" pumping instrumental version (But still has the original's vibe/original tempo), where people can have fun singing along to or even bob/bang their head to, lol. Kind of like a Special Hard Rockin' Karaoke version for Halloween parties.

Anyone who truly knows me knows other than Ghostbusters, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was my drug as a child.
Other than the entire franchise with the toys and all, me always being into music, that theme song was no joke to me. I always said I'd learn how to play it.
A couple of yrs ago I did a small cover of it, but wanted to make a better version.
Well with the new reboot film coming out (actually out today 03.24.2017), I put this together for fun.
It's not the entire full length version, but the short one that would play at the beginning and end of an episode.

So just to make it clear...This is def not an original song by me.
This is Ewan's song. He's playing the main acoustic guitar. All I did was make a "Metal Remix" by adding the Drums, Bass, Electric Guitar, Lead Guitars, and little Choir near the end. 
It's simply a collaboration.

Btw if u wanna know how I did this...
I beat mapped his performance in Pro Tools. I programmed the drums in Reason with individual drum samples made by a real drummer.
Then played bass and guitar. And of course the little choir bit near the end was done with Xpand2 in Pro Tools.

Machinery: Metal Mix (My Collaboration w Ewan Dobson)

I was noodling with my custom built Frankenstein vintage Japanese Fender Jaguar/Jazzmaster bass. I always thought it had the right punch to give me that "Cliff Burton" tone. I started poking around with some of my plugins, and this is what came out. Mind u this is ALL in the box. No amp, or outboard effects pedals. Just me plugged directly into Pro Tools. 
Btw playing wise, I know this is nowhere as good as Cliff. I was just messing around lol.

It's pretty bad ass. I highly recommend checking it out.
I also just happened to learn this song while tweaking.

I would normally be embarrassed to share something that has vocals by me on it. But the other night I was bored, and I had that natural high you get when tired late at night lol.
Here's my attempt at trying to add vocals to this short little riff I've been currently messing around with.
With what's been going on I've named it PANDEMIC 2020 and the "vocals" are as if the virus itself is talking to us. Yes...Totally Dethklok inspired.
I certainly didn't write them. I took a short snip from The Perfect Virus by Annihilator. I just changed some words around.
I'm no singer. And certainly no death metal vocalist who knows technique. My throat is shot after one little verse lol.

My main rig outside the “box” is a Mesa Mini Rectifier going into a Two Notes Audio Engineering Torpedo Live. 
My 2nd main rig is a Line 6 HX Stomp for bass and some guitar.
I also have my HUGE collection of pedals, which I've collected over the yrs since high school.

I Record/Mix/Master in Avid's Pro Tools 12.
