While not a category I’ve really seen anyone else apply to this sound, for me, it’s the first word that comes to my mind when I hear these uneven, pulsating, off-kilter complexities that this entire mix is comprised of. There’s confusing time signatures, wonky percussion, entrancing pads and synths, and a rhythm structure that sometimes breaks itself before it comes back together. To say this mix was a challenge to construct is an understatement, but I’m exceptionally pleased with the result. Succumb to a tidal wave of rhythmic hypnosis with mix one of “The Arsonist & The Architect” - Undulate.

This is the recording of my set at Terraforma.
it's been a truly great experience for me and therefore i decided to share it on here.
It's difficult to feel the energy out of a recording because techno is one ingredient that combined with the moment, the crowd and the place creates the magic...But i hope it will help you to get at least a taste of what it'd been like.

In anticipation of Atom™ and Tobias' tour of the US over the next two weekends (July 29 - Stereo Montreal, July 30 - The Bunker New York,  August 5 - Surface Tension SF, and August 6 - Lunar Lodge Colorado), we dug up this set, recorded at The Bunker New York showcase at Anthology at The Works in Detroit on May 25, 2015.  This three hour live and improvised set of hypnotizing mind control music closed out Movement weekend in epic fashion.  The room was still packed when they finished at 6am.

Bryan Kasenic is an American dj, promoter and the founder of well-known The Bunker New York label. The Bunker New York began as a party, grew up into a record label, and has become a collaborative community, fostered by founder and curator Bryan Kasenic since it’s launch in 2003. Bryan Kasenic delivers 60 minutes of murky and dynamic mix with a lots of twists and turns. In this hour-long set, recorded especially for Bassiani, he traipses through energetic techno, electro, breakbeat and leftfield aesthetic. Without high tempos and tensions throughout the mix, Kasenic perfectly creates dynamicity and intensity, that makes his sonic adventure very special and unique.

This mix was recorded at Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, where we played a four hour opening set. We made some small edits and added some tracks to finalise the mix. There is a magic about playing opening sets, and this night was special in particular — the lights got turned off and we played our first ambient track as a tuft of smoke was blown into club, which remained midair in the middle of the dance floor, like a sculpture — and it slowly vanished. The first guest came in and sat down against the concrete column, listening attentively as more smoke-sculptures formed around him. We were happy to play the first 20 minutes just for him.
