Welcome back to Bassiani’s neck of the woods for edition number 117. This one’s courtesy of someone who’s been heavily active on the Georgian scene for a hot decade. Cobert, né Giorgi Koberidze, led his rendition of our regular war dance at Horoom early this month by way of an hour-long excursion into trippy territory. With an array of brewing acid tweaks and wobbling basslines the blueprint, Cobert comes in firing on all cylinders with this special live set: a judiciously beat-matched and rousing score for Tbilisi’s dancefloor regiment.

As head honcho of the Hypersoft party series, Santi has been responsible for bringing some of our favourite artists such as Bliss Inc, Jane Fitz, Carl H and Solar Suite together under one roof for his legendary extended monthly parties.

Not only that, his bouncy, dynamic sets have been making waves thanks to his innate sense of fun and deep collection. It's a pleasure to present this all-vinyl mix from him bridging the gap between a diverse smorgasbord of different psychedelic sounds. Thanks Santi!

Kicking off the new year and picking up the tempo we have a rly nice ride from one of our good friends Wednesday. 
 
Wednesday aka Hannah's foray into the scene began with a residency with South London's Co Select who put on quality underground DIY events around the city and were early advocates for balanced representation behind the booth.  Her first two mixes demonstrated an ear for selection and programming that stood out and led to us booking her for one of our parties, not knowing she had already been attending as a punter :)  With a character that matches her cheeky style, Wednesday has slowly been building a name for herself playing across town and further afield for Together Elsewhere, RE:SISTANCE, Free Movements, Above & Below Festival, Divine Risen, Hypersoft in Berlin and regularly at UNFOLD.  
Here she jumps straight into it with just over an hour and a half of craftily woven progressive trance and minimal psy.

Introducing Hamatsuki - Mamuka Tskhadaia - DJ and Producer from Tbilisi, Georgia. As a day one resident of Horoom / Bassiani he's a vivid part of the local scene while his productions for iconic labels like Further Electronics and georgian labels Fantastic Planet and Mind Controlled Rectifier made him known to the international crowd.

His contribution for the Warning Mix Series was recorded at Horoom on the opening night of the season. Enjoy two and a half our of warm House grooveres, techy bangers and slick Electro cuts, mixed in a gentle yet energetic way. Let the bass roll!

Six years, fifty releases, countless artists and multiple subsidiaries; the Oyster Cult’s reach extends far beyond what sceptics once thought possible. It’s only fitting, then, that we gather some of our finest under the Kalahari banner in celebration.

The anniversary release is upon us. Six whole years since Jacy helped inaugurate the label with a spin on Midwestern house, OYSTER40 signals a landmark occasion. 18 tracks, quadruple vinyl boxset action, and in true Oyster Cult tradition, it comes bearing pearls.

Dancefloor squarely in focus, the Cult assembles on a compilation spanning alumni and new inductees alike. It’s an assemblage of the fractal, explorative and ritual-ready; at once a focused distillation of the Kalahari sound and celebration of its many acolytes. Big on atmosphere, heavy on groove, we delve deeply into the musical DNA shared by all who grace the label.

Tough, direct cuts (Sansibar, Roza Terenzi, Big Zen, Maara & Priori) to the pristine and widescreen (S.O.N.S., Volodymyr Gnatenko, Adam Pits), this is all quintessentially Kalahari. Elsewhere though, the likes of D. Tiffany and SW. journey further into realms of abstraction: the former opting for hi-tech, dreamstate IDM, while the SUED co-founder dissolves a house template into dubby introspection.

Calling upon contemporary talents, for the most part, there are also exceptions. Raymond Castoldi - the one-time house producer best known as Madison Square Garden’s music director - returns with an unreleased nugget from ’91, while an ‘Aliens’-sampling track from Detroit-indebted techno outfit Syzygy gets the reissue treatment.
