Another month, another mix - this time from Vienna based DJ and producer Morten B., who released two superb Dub Techno EPs on his own label Wandlung (@wandlung-handlung). The mix he recorded for us is a relaxed journey combining dubby tunes with more housey and groovy ones. Enjoy!

Throughout summer we’ve had several moments of joy, but we wanted to make sure we wrapped it up with something special. The final event of the season was our traditional open air gathering organized with the guys from nite vibes. This year, at a completely new location. 

Situated in the forest of the outskirts of Prague, the party exceeded the exceptations. Right after Shoal’s live set, @n-c-o-l stepped in with a set that was beyond ecstatic.

It’s hard to find the right words to describe what her sounds transmitted to the crowd, so we made sure to capture it instead. 

Take a glimpse yourself & dig into an hour and a half of sweaty & muddy techno that will take you back to the foggy air as the sun was rising.

Alongside kindred flame Haruka, he’s half of improv/jockey act Twin Peaks. Solo, he’s a techno veteran (and two time Podcast invitee) with a hunger for imported fare. Influenced by an abundance of Japanese dub and jazz, and member of avant-garde hip-hop ensemble Think Tank, DJ Yazi’s protean inclinations spawned Black Smoker Records once upon a time, and residencies at Tokyo staples, El Nino and Konvektion. These continue, and with each new trip around the sun Yazi makes several across the globe. From coast to coast, his laser focus, heed for detail and undeniable skill are worth a raver’s pilgrimage all their own. A mixture of deep, trippy sounds and off the wall references make for a singular sound as Bassiani Podcast 160 will attest. This one’s a slow burner, a live recording from the second night of Future Terror’s 20th Anniversary on the Horoom floor: oddball and laid back, a fresh taste of what this decorated pioneer has up his playful sleeve.

On the last two weekends of January 2023 we exchanged some mutual affection with Vitamin, our favorite music pit and the best crew from Brno. We decided to immortalise the two long nights with a few small doses of Vitamin A extracts – five recordings from events in Prague and Brno.

5th recording captures the b2b chemistry between NCOL and Yan, who closed Vitamin's basement on January 27.

GiGi FM, aka Giulia Fournier-Mercadante, is the latest refreshing addition to our REC series. Her visit at Fuse left us all in awe, and for a good reason. Fitting no stereotypes, the French/Italian artist slides with brilliance between many genres and sub-genres with a selection sharpened on the wire and a sonic twitch that one should try to follow. 

Brutal and soft at the same time, GiGi FM puts in motion a delicate setting where primitive energy collides with a myriad of sensorial textures. It's elegant. It's calibrated. In short, it's good.
