The influence of Copenhagen’s burgeoning scene is felt through a number of DJs, clubs and collectives that mark its map. Among them, Fast Forward is a keystone: spreading its seductive techno manifesto, engaging in the creation of safe spaces for ravers to dance and championing left-activism at large. As ambassador for the collective, Peachlyfe is fast gaining a voice among its ranks with a rousing juxtaposition of automaton beats and glowing pads that evoke the 6am moment the dancefloor blinds open. Now is no time to rest, this episode is their political call to action, an hour of trance-leaning aural fantasy for a brave new world.

Yet another talent hailing from the Georgian capital: Shin label boss Newa kicks off our next episode with her left-field strain of aquatic beats. If she hasn’t crossed your radar yet, the Bassiani resident could do soon. Since 2012, Newa’s experimental productions and makeshift sets have been making her presence felt all over this town. That’s changed a little with the pandemic (and becoming a mother), which makes this rare recording, her first set in a while, all the more special. Stay tuned for an incomparable gem: cheeky millennial euphoria, acid frequencies, apoplectic basslines, this one’s got it all.

With the worst of the pandemic in the rear-view mirror, Danish virtuoso DJ Tool can finally get back to IRL raves, and championing a signature brand of techno that blurs the gulf between the heady days of 90s trance and present. This is his second round for the Bassiani podcast series, a high voltage return to his Copenhagen roots. They’ve fully grown: quicksilver rhythms that have to be seen (and felt) in the flesh, though this one’s a glimpse of that magic at home. Another boiling recorded night at Fuse lands upon us once again. A worthy representative of the Copenhagen underground scene, Schacke takes us through a sound bite of the night dedicated to Fast Forward Productions. 

Armed with tireless practice, the eye for detail of the Moral Defeat label father can be heard through his two hours of music crossed with presence and confidence. With a vast gamut of inspirations, one thing is sure here: groove is king. Latent dynamism, seamless 4/4 transitions, sometimes toying with chopped vocals and deep rhythms, Schacke’s sense for music is both sweet and brainy. Until the next one, hats off to you Schacke.

Anastasia Kristensen is no new name to the scene. Developing her passion for music throughout the past 10 years into a solid career while based in Copenhagen. Back home, she’s a resident for LGBTQ party Mainstream while often spinning at venues in Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.

Known as a selector and able to master the fitting moods - be it at a festival or a tiny basement, Anastasia leans towards energetic and eclectic styles, shuffling several genres and always serving somewhat avant-garde musical journeys each time. For releases, she boasts 3 EPs on Arcola and Houndstooth, both legendary London leftfield electronic music labels.
During the pandemic, Anastasia served a platform for 18 artists to create a charity compilation to support Equality Now - an NGO supporting women affected most by COVID.

Teen prodigy Inès Boullant has wasted no time getting started. Within just a few short years, she’s gone from an initial preamble at Tresor with her mom to cutting her teeth with Rinse France and the Possession crew, DJing and pushing her fledgling talents at full tilt to become a poster girl for everything that Paris has to offer vis-à-vis underground culture. She counts Hector Oaks, Ellen Allien as loyal mentors, and boasts a slew of scorching hot releases on KAOS and Lobster Theremin. Touring clubnight Under Rave yet another project on the list her golden touch has set alight. Add one more: Bassiani Podcast 154. Phase Fatale is the Berlin-based techno project of Hayden Payne. Since 2014 the New York native has earned a reputation as a techno innovator, both for the broad spectrum of dystopian, gritty, industrial-laden electronics included in DJ sets as well as his deep understanding of synthesis and sound design in his own productions. 

Having released his debut album on Hospital Productions (Redeemer, 2017) and 12"s on labels such as Jealous God, Ostgut Ton, and its sub-label unterton, Phase Fatale has since settled into residencies at both Berghain in Berlin as well as 中 KHIDI in Georgia's capital Tbilisi. In 2018 Payne launched his own label BITE, where he released his collaboration with Pablo Bozzi as Soft Crash. January 2020 saw the release of his second solo album Scanning Backwards on Ostgut Ton.
