A deluge of uptempo alien wares and left-of-centre breaksy manoeuvres blended with homing hi-tech warheads, Nebbieri’s delivery takes no byway to get its message across. As with all Bassiani in-house jockeys, she undoubtedly masters the art of transition and radical tempo switches to perfection, and the ruthlessly addictive buildups she unreels here attests to her magnificent mixing skills and unfaltering resolution in wreaking absolute havoc wherever she gets to play at. Decade of Memories saw some of the biggest names in the field come together to mark 10 years of Bassiani, an apposite mix of talents whose own times at the club have each added their own note to its story. In turbulent times and now more than ever the power of music, dance and community is needed and on October 4th these tried and true talents were just the ticket. Among them, Voiski and Sophie Phare played b2b duties on the Horoom floor, a genius pairing of two sounds who find common ground in their love of the fast and rhythmic. The former a French veteran with over a decade of tales to tell and frequent musical acknowledgement of his Iranian roots, whose ever expanding universe has charted disparate paths in collaboration with names like Heartbeat, Vril, Elliot Litrowski, Wata Igarashi, Crysta Patterson and Hadone (Vrilski, Superski, Wav, Kartel and Voiski & Hadone respectively), with over 200 releases and 20 EPs to his name on labels like Mama Told Ya, L.I.E.S., Dekmantel and Delsin. The latter a Georgian mainstay, previous podcast guest and Bassiani resident whose effervescent and catchy melodies would have a cheetah breaking a sweat. Their double alliance meanders through the ambient and expansive texture of Voiski’s world and the sagacious kitsch of Phare’s own making for a high-powered three-hour set that channels the revolutionary spirit of Tbilisi’s creative scene. With the likes of these two at the helm of the Horoom floor and on good track, the next ten years are sure to promise countless more feelings, encounters and memories. Bassiani Podcast 236 is one such special moment, recorded live here on home turf.

Luxembourg’s Ogazón (of Nathalie Ogazón Faber) followed her studies to the Netherlands and fell deep down the rabbit hole of Amsterdam nightlife, Trouw she recounts as transformative. Enough so that she followed that thread starting in the mid 2010s as neophyte DJ before upping sticks for Berlin a few years later. There, her passion for digging and upbeat outlook landed her in Ryan Elliot’s sights, a partnership that’s taken B2B form on more than a few occasions and led to further work with fellow blue chipper Marcel Dettmann (she signed to his agency in 2023). These days Ogazón’s sound is spreading to the pace of its rapid tempo, and her schedule’s all the more punishing for it. Dekmantel, Awakenings, DGTL, Berghain, Robert Johnson, the list gets longer. Refusing trivial categorisations, her work pivots between groovy house and austere techno, bringing together various influences (the ambient inclinations of Sofia Coppola she also cites) and keeping her vision broad. For Bassiani Podcast 241 she errs on the side of techno, delivering a profound two-hour mix that marches unrepentantly forward, zipping from ascetic track to track and building an atmosphere thick with subtle detail. This is deep, utilitarian techno for unsettled times and Ogazón leads the way.

On a desolate hill, overlooking a sleeping valley, stands a monument of concrete. It is a church of brutalism, a testament to stark, uncompromising design. And today, it has a visitor. 🏛️ A silent, shimmering being has appeared, its body wrapped in chrome, its head a multi-faceted mirror reflecting the harsh sun and the raw concrete. It is an apparition, an echo, a living sculpture born from the building's own lonely soul. It is the Brutalist Being, and it has come to dream its concrete dreams.

The beat is the steady, monolithic rhythm of the concrete blocks. The ambient pads are the wind whistling through the empty corridors. The sharp, clean synth stabs are the glint of sunlight off its mirrored head. ✨ It is a soundscape built from angles, echoes, and empty space—a sonic representation of brutalist thought.
