Co-founder of Norway’s future-facing Ute crew, Ekkel (Teo Bachs) has a front-row seat in the cockpit on their psychedelic flavoured quest. From their woodland beginnings they’ve staked a claim to freedom through music and community, and expanded to include brick and mortar club nights and a self-titled label for the release of their magnetic and mysterious techno sounds. Earlier this summer I had the pleasure of finally visiting Above Below, a magically warm and inspiring festival tucked intimately within the Chilterns which I had heard so much about over years. What I discovered there was a community that immediately felt like home, a weekend full of moments both immaculately deep & breathlessly exuberant, and a true sense of independence and discovery in the spirit of the festival.

Playing in the UK will always be a special honor for me, and I wanted to capture my appreciation for such a pivotal scene while pushing myself in ways that are distinctly my own. This set helped me find more than a few footholds in my own practice and I’m so happy to share the recording, one from a lineup full of friends & inspirations. Hope you enjoy it!

Zenaari's Podcast is back with a very special number, and this one’s from German juggernaut Efdemin. Phillip Sollmann’s nefarious allonym claims a well-deserved space on many a record cover and many a flyer. So large is his footprint that now, years since he first picked up a piece of hardware, or even started building his own, he’s largely liberated from the real world constraints many younger artists face. With nothing left to prove, and all this newfound freedom comes the space to truly probe the possibilities of sound in all its dimensions. This method is tried and tested (think 2019’s New Atlantis), but with each passing year the road travelled gets longer and no less full of surprises. It’s all down to his highly personal and off-centre approach - to be sure, he’s just as comfortable with feel-good techno (and his unconventional treatments make an appearance there too), but the real magic happens without preconceived ideas about genre or format, and the result is both organic and capable of opening doors no-one ever knew existed. Zenaari Mix 013 is a mind-maze in sound, from gentle piano and theremin allusions, to spoken narratives and dialogues that anticipate the world to come, and of course, there are Sollmann’s beloved bells. This is fresh ground trodden, Efdemin bravely charging into the unknown, a strange and spiritual palette of sounds from one of electronic music’s most iconoclastic figures.

For this hour we go deep within and hop of the slow groovy train of time and space for a beautiful reflective journey with a pallet of feels and kinda right on point with the eclipse season & our cosmic skies as Pluto goes direct and marks the end of its stay in Capricorn, prompting reflections on transformations since 2008.

Omg, thank god the break is over. Things were getting a little dry over here. We’ve really be missing the action-packed and drama-fuelled race weekends. Sadly, this recent break in the F1 season has been tainted with the news of Daniel Ricciardo being dropped by Visa Cash App RB in a horrible break up. They did Danny dirty. Why was this not announced before Singapore so Danny could have got the send off he so deserved? He’s done so much for the sport via both his driving and endearing personality that captured the hearts of so many new fans when Drive To Survive came out. He deserved so much more. Our hearts melted at the recent pic of Danny sporting a cap saying “I’m retired - having a good time is my job” - yes! Good time Danny is what we love to see! We will miss him so much. Now there’s only two seats left to be signed for 2025 with Liam Lawson not quite signed on for next year and the second seat at Sauber with rumours of Mick Schumacher returning to the grid. 

There really wasn’t much else that happened during this break - we’ve enjoyed seeing the holiday snaps where Charles desperately trying to stay undercover in disguises that look like he’s raided his mum’s wardrobes whilst Lando Norris is launching a new sultry fragrance campaign with Ralph Lauren. The two sides of the coin. 

Now onto the seventh edition of G-FORCE. We’re thrilled to have the esteemed French producer Voiski on the series who delivers a delicious serving of exhilarating techno and trance. In the accompany interview, Voiski mentions that he “tried to put myself in that tunnel Senna mentioned after his qualifying lap in Monaco '88”. This mix is pure psychedelia sped up to the nines. Strap in!
