BASS MECHANIX AUDIO's 8th release features two very talented musicians from New Zealand; DJ Orphan on production and JabZ MC on vocals. Luke Berryman aka DJ Orphan hailing from Auckland, started out 12yrs ago playing Hip Hop with residencies at renowned Fu Bar & Bass Bar.

Not defined to any one genre, Luke has honed his music writing skills, making HipHop, Triphop & other experimental productions. He is also head engineer at BigPopStudios, Auckland. In 2010 Orphan was selected from a worldwide remix competition for DJ Shadows 1st ever Remix Project which saw his remix 'All Things Shadow' a part of the Remix Project Compilation available from DJ Shadow's website. Earlier this year DJ Orphan put out the single The Truth Hurts feat. SuperVillains RMC.

This hard-hitting message made its way onto the US Mixtape circuit on Digital Dynasty 21 & Coast 2 Coast Mixtape magazines Indie Top 50. After meeting Alistair aka JabZ M.C earlier this year when Luke was recording for Drum & Bass artist 'Teknik', he gave JabZ a small handful of Instrumentals. From that meeting we now bring you 'A Brick At A Time' the collaboration between the Hip Hop groove with a DnB lyrical twist. JabZ M.C from the UK now residing in Christchurch, NZ.

Warming up for the legendary Mampi Swift and IC3 gave him his first real taste of a NZ crowd back in 2005 and he hasnt looked back since, earning himself a reputation as a killer lyricist, hype MC and host. Having amped up crowds on tour across NZ and Europe as MC of choice for homegrown producers State Of Mind, as well as providing vocal duties for international heavyweights Andy C, Teebee, Black Sun Empire and Total Science (to name but a few), when JabZ picks up the mic in front of a crowd all hell breaks loose!
