Those of you familiar with Jesse Rivera's work already know that you're in for an aural treat with his releases. His latest release 'Staying' is body-shaking gold. Solid kicks are are layered with reverse chord stabs and a deep bassline groove that instantly pull you in. A vocal chorus accents the track with a memorable hook. Louie Gomez provides a remix to 'Staying' that keeps a few of the elements of the original and adding an arpeggio which gives the whole track a hypnotic feel. Closing out the EP is 'Time To', which is a funky stomper. Showcasing a clean and punchy synth and distorted piano stabs - the energy on this is amazing.

The Raw Tapes is a new series from Bassment Tapes Records highlighting a more stripped down underground sound, where experimenting is good and creativity is unleashed. Raw Tapes Volume 1 features two tracks from one of our favorites - Hilario V. Untitled 1 and Untitled 2 are energetic dancefloor jams featuring in-your-face drums, combining elements of acid-house, techno, and funkified beats.

The Bootleg Project conceptually built around the haunting vocals of Arema. Melo Blanco lends his production skills to the song in two flavors. His first remix builds upon his signature percussion style, layers of soft pads, and wobbly basslines culminating in a soulful excursion for the soul. His second pass is 'The Deeper Mix' which, like a human heartbeat, pulses deep inside you highlighting the haunting vocal, beautifully crafted.  Louie Gomez provides a feel-good party vibe with his remix - drawing on the roots of early Salsoul, Gomez gives us disco for days with fabulous string runs, funky percussion over sweet chord progressions.

'Cure Of The Pox' is a bit deeper with guitar riffs and chord stabs with a quirky vocal sprinkled over top - very catchy indeed.
