We welcome Eusebeia to the Samurai family with the Fall Then Rise EP. 

A plan hatched at Membrain Festival 2021 led to the collation of the first Eusebeia tracks for Samurai. Hitting the target with his very first demos for the EP, Eusebeia perfectly constructed 4 tracks that take his signature timeless break-heavy, musically spiced sound and give it a Samurai flavour.

The EP opens with ‘Nothing Left To Lose’ which marries his soaring Junglist aesthetics to a 126 BPM lurch step, setting an ominous mood before the EP’s two centre-piece tunes ‘Call Out’ and ‘Fall The Rise’ deal out the heavy hitting break-edits. Always keeping the musical elements to the fore, Eusebeia’s engine room of deep sub and breakbeat crunch create an irresistible package that any lover of classic era Jungle/Drum and Bass will feel deep in their bones. Burgeoning closes the EP with a volley of amen edits punctuated by expertly melded fills of the most effective breaks in the business. As always the spice of the track is the reaching pads and deep pulsing sub.

Fall Then Rise is an auspicious debut EP that cements Eusebeia as a perfect addition to the Samurai Music sound palette.

Normally his releases showcase his mastery of the light and dark duality of Drum & Bass with a sensei’s precision, but for DROOGS he reminds everyone that to be adept in the Yin, you need to be an accomplished champion of the Yang.

The 303 acid rhythm of “Eyes Open” slithers through the smokey underworld, a measured and methodical killer that squeezes the listener tighter and tighter in its grasp

“Violator” goes full Rufige with broken side steps and gooned up stabs setting up speaker knocking thuds and miscreant B Boy atmosphere.

“Hidden Figures” blacks out right from the top with insidious pads, phantom force knocks, filthy Reece and a reverberating clock bell that signals the witching hour is upon us. 

“Strident” shoots poison darts through the tree line with cascading breakbeats, soundman call outs, more nefarious Reece sweeps and chest out Junglist bravado.

After acclaimed releases on leading UK Jungle labels Rupture and Western Lore, Eusebeia continues a steady procession of creative vehicles for Samurai Music with the LP X . Tweaking the textural layers to lean towards the Samurai Music shade has been a winning formula with his previous EPs for the label 'Fall The Rise' and 'Omen' lighting a musical spark that has turned into a burning flame of creativity that shows no sign of stopping.

X is based on a concept Eusebeia used to tie the LP together as explained by him:

"X is about what is known, particularly with things relating to the past and present, but even more so the unknown, and the future. While these things are intrinsically linked and the past informs the future, there is a perpetual sense of the unknown when looking toward the future, which is why it's best to stay in the present. X is an acceptance of the uncertainty and unknown nature of things to come, but also an acknowledgment of what has come before and got us to the point we are at now, and the inevitability we can/will continue to progress accordingly."

X is an accomplished manifesto of re-imagined Jungle, a mastery of the form that has its sights set firmly on longevity.
