I didn’t grow up during the disco period, but its story, melody, beat, and rhythm have been inspiring to me from the get-go. In fact, my childhood memories were packed with hip-hop dance, breakdancing, popping, locking, and waacking — the kinds of dances you wouldn’t believe were popular in Southeast Asia during the early 2000s, and still even to this day.
