Me playing first my Richwood longs scale, then an Alembic Epic.

Both sounds nice, but I prefer the meat and thump, along with the really staccato highs of the Richwood over the incredibly clear, polite tone of the Alembic.  The Alembic sound beautiful, an incredible tone!  It just doesn't sit so well musically to me, draws too much attention to itself if that makes sense.

Both sounds nice, but I prefer the "immediacy" of the attack from the Richwood when the finger plucks the string, the lows are kind of less 'subby' on the Richwood . The Alembic sound beautiful again but you don't feel in touch with the notes when playing them.  Similar to my experience of many Warwicks etc.. Also with the bridge pickup being so near the bridge, it's all ruble & click (awful through a big PA).
