Ams’ career is on a steep uphill trajectory. On her second ever release, the producer and 1020 resident’s French heritage is palpable. Having grown up on a strict diet of 90’s house, she breathes its influence into her buoyant house productions, here translating as infectious grooves, sultry vocals, and disco inflections. On hand to offer remix duties is fellow French artist and SNF family member THEOS who injects his jazz influences into ‘Alderbaran’.

Back from a year-long hiatus - Manchester’s Joe Roche returns with a chunky, forward-thinking 4 track package, “Another Day In Paradise”. Of late, Joe has demonstrated depth and versatility with his productions and live sets, mainly aiming towards acid house and its many forms. This EP reveals a fresher and more contemporary approach, drawing inﬂuence from artists such as Djoko, Archie Hamilton, DJ Life & James
Andrew.

The title track, Another Day in Paradise, is driven by ﬂubbery lead lines, modulated hi-hats and is blissfully awash with euphoric pads throughout. Roche has included a beautifully selected Alicia Keys vocal that lifts this track to an elating rollercoaster ride that you don’t want to get off. Futuristic house music, best suited for sunrise or sunset.

Second up is “KM4-SCB (Freak Like Me Mix)”. Inspired by a trip to the white isle in 2021,
Roche collated all of the music he’d experienced into one bumpy, danceﬂoor weapon. This track playfully bounces from element to element, screaming character and creativity. Sequenced vocals, reversed vocals, bass wobbles, thick textural chords and held together by a chuggy lead and bassline that unapologetically makes you move.

Both tracks are accompanied by a Dub Mix, ideal for the stripped back sets with focus on the groove.

Bass Toast steps in with a wonderful multicultural EP. Filled with warm chords and soulful broken beats. Half Belgian, half Portuguese Alexandre Bastos has an approach that’s seen him spend the last few years colliding different genres into percussive sounds filled with both confort and discomfort. He previously released on Listen Festival’s compilation, and is now revealing his latest project on his label Cosmic Breeze Record.

Provocatively named «Golden Spunk», this EP contains 4 percussive jazz-infused house broken beat tracks, in which, he shares the feeling of «Spunk», meaning « courage ». Living in a Golden era, filled with daily pressure all around, determination and courage are both paramount to one’s understanding of what’s needed in our individual and collective journeys.

Happiness Therapy continues its 2023 release schedule this April with a welcome re-appearance from French talent @mogan_is_mogan. The five track Flowers Remember marks his debut full-length feature on the imprint and includes a remix by label mainstay B From E.

Fast-emerging, with a clear ear for what makes the perfect dancefloor melody, French talent Mogan is one of the country’s leading musical exponents. His discography speaks for itself, with a string of releases on Gents & Dandy’s and Sampling As An Art Records. He’s no stranger to Happiness Therapy either, having appeared on the two most recent Happy House compilations, which led to him receiving massive support from french legend Laurent Garnier. SI-FI lands first with some gorgeous urban garage vibes, followed swiftly by HATT.D offering an absolutely blissed out deep house cut. Hurlee delivers some driving, hands in the air house business, before Luca Olivotto comes through with pure hands in the air four-four sounds. In at the fifth spot is Guizz providing pounding basslines and synths all underscored with sultry vocal refrains, while Paul Rudder steps things up a notch, supplying a gorgeous, breakbeat infused piano house number. Bress Underground step up with a melancholy and retro tinged stomper of a piece, and DJ LOOKBOOK takes a warehouse-ready '90s house bump, bringing the heat with some re-pitched vocals and rave style synths. Dan T is up next with an exquisite deep house beauty carefully layered with super airy vocal lines, before Sunny Galaxy comes through with a pad heavy tune incorporating a start to finish 80s feel. Finishing off the compilation is Peter LC, bringing things down nicely with a flawless, laid back chunk of deep house.
