“I knelt, barefoot, in the leaves. The Germanic god of the forest embraced me, to let me know I was welcome. He was the size of the forest. I felt the leaves with my hands. The sound, was lucent. I gazed between my knees to find a lady beetle. Perfect in symmetry. The red began with a black dot in it’s centre. Then further back, two dots evenly spaced apart. Then further back, four more, evenly spaced. Its head had the same perfect symmetry, but in black and white. Its entirety was boundless. The view I had of the forest before me was apexed by the lady beetle between my knees.

I too was in symmetry with the forest.”

We're thrilled to welcome the psytech queen of Norway, Safira, to the SixthSense stables, officially. We properly connected with Safira in 2022, when SixthSense alongside Stone Seed performed for her at her elite Norwegian techno parties. Her brand "Extra Delicious" hosts a plethora of the biggest names in the psychedelic culture. Not only that, she has just launched her new imprint Monstera Deliciosa with a collaborative VA on Alpaka Muzik.

Safira returns to Australia this Summer for another tour down under, and we can't wait to invite her back.

Insights:
This re-recording is a condensed 3-hour version including 44 tracks. The original set was 5 hours with a whopping 72 tracks.

Vibe: groove, rolling, driving, psychedelic, hypnotic, dark, hard groove  

Things start to heat up around 45 minutes. Throughout the set, I dip in and out of a range of lighter, deeper and darker energies. I conclude the mix with a soothing Martin Nonstatic track for a smooth landing.

Extended Blurb:

I’m excited to share a re-recording of my debut set inside Sisyphos’s ‘Hammahalle’. For those who aren’t already aware, Hammahalle is the main room inside Berlin’s Sisyphos nightclub. I played a 5-hour closing set, 1 am - 6 am Monday 14.08.2023. Not only is this the fastest techno set I have ever played at an event, but intermittently I snuck in some of my dark progressive/psytrance library taking risks I had not anticipated I would. 

This opportunity has been a dream of mine, a huge milestone in my DJ career, and a step forward in developing as an artist. Big up and gratitude to my techno family and co. (Stone Seed and Sixth Sense) for including me in the Aussie takeover. The other Australian artists included in the takeover included: Axon, Tom Baker, Jedidiah, and ZigMon.

If you feel so inclined to support and repost the set, I would be very grateful. Final thanks to Sisyphos and the hosts inside this space, I hope to return in 2024 <3

Sydney born Berlin based Bass To Pain Converter forges a new addition for the Bassic Records library. A darkened craft based on part circumstance and part narrative, 'Switch' marks the first B2PC track written since the duo act went solo and relocated to Berlin. A switch in the structure of a musical artist, and a switch to a more traditional music structure - ABAB - for each consecutive drop - verse, chorus, verse, chorus. The powerful energy of 'Switch' is driven by waves of eery thrills formed through war drum percussion perks, distorted vocals and the obscure but perfected kick bass. The EP as a whole is a strong step forward for progressive bush techno, with B2PC and each remixing artist taking the concept and creating their own light. A vast spectrum of interpretation. Psychedelia, industrialism, aphotic atmosphere, deepened release of emotion, all portrayed in the stories of 'Switch' by Bass To Pain Converter, Ben Rama, Dylan Carroll and Luis M.

B2PC explores the balance between industrial obscurity, film score, psychedelia, tribal rhythm and narrative. His professionally trained background in drumming, live performance, production and DJing power his sets with technical versatility and originality, utilising a 7 channel, live Ableton set with inimitable groove and soundscape layering.

Being a metal head, B2PC’s drawn to the darker, more experimental possibilities that techno has to offer. Techno acts as a portal to his most innate primal core, focusing on traditional rhythms and urges towards barrier-dissolving gatherings of spirit and celebration. For him, techno in nature is home.

From 2016-21 he resided in Berlin, where his infatuation with techno expanded. He held a residency at Void Club Berlin’s ‘The Hardest Rave Of Your Life’ and played at clubs and festivals across Europe including Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland and at Armenia’s first ever electronic music festival, Ahoora Festival. 

While living in Berlin he toured yearly back in Australia and New Zealand playing at Earth Frequency Festival, Earthcore Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, Twisted Frequency Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce Festival, Psyfari Festival, S.A.S.H. and many more.
