Deep&Disco is back with a remix package by singer Adeline Michèle, the Parisian-born front lady of the band Escort,with remixes by Kraak & Smaak, DJ Vas, JKriv and Dino Soccio.

Co-written and produced by JKriv, the original is a modern take on 80's mid-tempo R&B, think Chaka Khan meets Holy Ghost! Blending a deep bass line with shimmering synth textures, the infectious hook really shines a light on Adeline's formidable vocals. Kraak & Smaak rework the tune into a chilled-out new boogie affair, while DJ Vas and JKriv take things into deeper and darker territory with their mixes. Dino Soccio rounds out the package with sultry and warm west coast flavor.

Adeline Michèle has been leading disco band Escort since the release of their first eponymous album in 2011. With a new Escort record slated for an end of October release, and other lead up singles gaining serious attention in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and the NY Times magazine, Adeline is set to make some serious waves in 2015 and beyond.

“Redo:Remixed” will be available exclusively on Beatport on October 12th, then iTunes, Spotify and everywhere else by early November.

Oozing soul and summery positivity from start to finish, “Rocket Love” combines the studio talents of label founder Sean McCabe and legendary Mood II Swing producer Lem Springsteen, with the inspired lyrics and vocals of fast-rising New York soul man Dannis Winston.

“Rocket Love” begun life as an instrumental jam between McCabe and Springsteen, but really came to life when singer-songwriter Dannis Winston, a protégé of soul great Jean Carn, was brought on board to add his own special blend of vocal magic.

Winston, whose debut solo EP ‘Master Class’ was rightly championed by a string of high profile U.S music blogs, is a rare talent – a songwriter and vocalist whose effortless, soul-fired delivery recalls the likes of Omar and Kenny Latimore. His poignant, emotion-rich voice naturally comes to the fore on the ‘Sean and Lem’s Main Vocal’ mix, whose brilliant backing track combines McCabe’s bumpin’ beats and low-slung bassline with the rich musicality for which Springsteen is famous.

McCabe has also delivered a string of alternative versions. There’s the jaunty, jazz- funk flavoured Rocket-Funk Remix, which puts live bass, trumpet and keys at the heart of the action, and a warm, soulful and heavily electronic Dub that brilliantly riffs on the sublime Main Mix.

Up and coming Japanese producer BRISA gets a deep remix treatment from Dave + Sam, comprised of Chicago vocalist Mike Dunn and NYC mainstay producer Sam O.B. Recently signed to Luke Solomon's Classic Music Company / Defected - the duo turn BRISA's abstract "Behind The Veil" into bumpin hip-house number, incorporating the original vibe with an irresistable bassline and vocals from Dunn that would light up any late night dancefloor. Yesterday (26/11) was his birthday in heaven.

Some of you probably never heard of this Grammy Award winning songwriter, but I bet all of you know Bill Withers' evergreen "Lovely Day".
And this man here is responsible for that evergreen.

He also wrote LTD's hit "Love Ballad", Patti Labelle's "It's Alright With Me" and a bunch of songs for my favorite band of all time, Earth Wind & Fire. 
And one of them is the gorgeous "Can't Hide Love".

First recorded by,- these days largely forgotten outfit-, Creative Source, that song took a whole new leash of life in the hands of Maurice White & co, transforming it into a whole new monster; so definite, every recorded version after is indebted to the one EWF put to reel.

So, to honor the man who graced the earth with this gem, I took 15 of those versions (yes, there are more!) and made a 12-and-a-half minute medley out of it, rendering from obscure takes by Perry & Sanlin and Hummingbird to live versions by D'Angelo & Dionne Warwick, not to forget originators like aforementioned Creative Source and, ofcourse, Earth Wind & Fire themselves.
