I found this in my archives and it is probably at least 15 years old but I had to share this story.  So I was in Granville ohio during the street fair, or some sort of event for 4th of july(If I recall correctly).  Anyways, I'm walking from Wildwood park back up towards downtown Granville when I hear the most beautiful sounding violin that I had ever heard in my life. A gentleman by the name of Rob Flax,  who i'd guess between 18-22 year old at the time is just standing on the side of the road giving the gift of his music to everyone who could hear it.  I was mesmerized. As someone who had been making terrible music for years, and with a willingness to soak in as much as I could, I stopped and had to thank him for the experience. I told him about what I was trying to do and without question we exchanged info and made plans to meet up so i could record him jamming.  I could have never expected what was to come of that recording session but let me tell you this......  This is improvisational electric violin. I simple brought him over, played this super basic beat for him to play to, gave him the nod and told him to just play whatever he felt.  At the time I was hoping to be able to sample some of what he recorded and find a way to use it in my own music.  What happened next was one of the most incredible musical experiences of my life. To feel Rob playing live is an indescribable joy. It took me a long time to find him online because I had his last name spelled incorrectly but finally have it sorted out.  Thank you, Rob Flax.... I will never forget this experience.  You have no idea how many peoples minds have been blown by this single recording. I barely knew what I was doing at the time but I knew this was an instant classic and I could not change it from its original form. If you want to experience something joyous, please listen.
