The New Standard: Virtuous and Transcendent.
Bastiaan composes original songs and offers fresh arrangements of jazz standards, blues traditionals, and pop classics. His repertoire of songs and instrumentals have an often exotic essence, transformational meaning, or transcendent quality.

His piano arrangements are harmonically beautiful with a tinge of dissonance as they follow intricate rhythms. His sound is warm and deep, yet bright and clear. His voice alternately nestles within and rises above his virtuous piano accompaniment with emotion, lyricism, subtlety and sophistication, raw and powerful.

Bastiaan performs to uplift the human spirit and is most happy when he finds an audience receptive to a meaningful delivery of beauty, connection, and grace. He plays music to shift the sleepy mind away from daily routine to a dedicated sacred space.
