Mielafon is a pseudonym of a Saint Petersburg musician / producer / DJ who since the beginning of the 90s has been manifesting himself both in music and in various artistic visual and audio projects, sometimes disappearing in search of his own place in life. Regardless of style or genre, there is always a solution in navigating and developing appropriate audio visualizations for modern minds. But now he is swimming in the river of techno and house music. The Cacao crew pay their respects to their favourite classic tunes. While we’re constantly flooded by daily rapid-fire releases, there are some timeless gems that always ignite the dancefloors. The following tracks come from influential artists that have left their mark on the Cacao team’s sound world, blending perfectly into their sets. 
At number one we have Rodriguez Jr. of the mobilee family with his Kids of Hula belter. A playful groove serves as centerpiece, dotted by exotic fauna sounds that reach for the tropics. Alternating percussive pads, the fittingly tribal drums bring the entire melody together, making it a perfect peak-time track.
Dub Taylor’s aptly titled Hidden From the Mind showcases a fully immersive tribal experience. Kicking off with wooden percussive loops that make for an instant earworm, we’re gradually greeted with distorted vocals and an ample groove that blend into the perfect dub tech journey.

The first B-side takes us further into the house jungle, with youANDme’s deep edit of Lawrence & Seth Troxler’s Miles in Aphrika. A stern echoed vocal presents itself as the leitmotif, while the melody progressively unfolds. Metallic pads and subtle synth grabs add to the atmosphere, creating a sense of space and amping up the overall intensity.
Audiofly turn Martin Eyerer and Benno Blome’s Piano Roll into a jazzy house exploration with major dancefloor appeal. Bouncy yet deep, the bassline keeps the body moving, while the {Rhodes} piano chords create the perfect immersive groove. One to heat up the atmosphere at any point during a set!

Melodic echoes drift through the stereo panorama like ice cubes orbiting through the hi-proof universe of a milky cocktail. Between them stretches the intricate tick-tock of a liquified clockwork. Markus Homm and Benny Grauer sculpt their compelling grooves from the hard, repetitive substance of Techno - but eventually their productions have a round, organic elegance that is reminiscent of mushrooms sprouting amidst the sparkling dew of a early morning meadow. While it’s quiet in the streets, it’s loud all over in the studios - one thing that no one can stop! For the 28th edition of ‚as usual.’ releases, we are onboarding three new faces with a distinctive sense for brisk underground music. On the main part, there’s one of Berlin’s highly demanded artists in these days - charming CASIMIR VON OETTINGEN, who brings tons of freshness with two originals of catchy minimal music. The remixers are YULIA NIKO, who had an enormous output in the recent times on labels like Deeperfect, Hottrax, Crosstown Rebels or Get Physical. And then there’s Zürich-based NADER who is a protagonist in the scene since the early 90’s and well-known in the city and above for his unique style. Welcome everybody for the ‚Brepps EP’. 

Casimir’s original of the title track feels like a cool shower on sweaty days and has everything that a non-categorizable minimal tune needs at these days. ‚Brepps’ stands out by finding the perfect alance between stripped-down rhythmics, low-boosting curves plus a sincere sweetness and humour.

Last but not least, we get lost once again with „Endlos“ resident Casimir’s ‚Dollop’ and we don’t want to find the exit. Light-footedly he seduces us into his world of profound sequences on shaking minimalistic rhythms - effective as hell. Timeless stuff that spends full satisfaction and catches us by the eternal passion for loops.
