Things are gearing up at Lowup Records. We’re more than thrilled to present a joint release of Max Le Daron’s Monin’Guetin together with Akwaaba. Max has been working intensely this last couple of years on a series of Afro inspired tunes, collaborating with various vocalists. Monin’Guetin is a serious Afro banger featuring Joey Le Soldat, Burkina rapper on the rise & Gan Gah. 
The original will be out in a few on Akwaaba music alongside other gems. We at Lowup, will present the accompanying remix EP featuring remixes by Gafacci, KKingKong, Siete Catorce & Lorenzo BITW.

First up is Ghanaian producer Gafacci (the guy behind Jowaa) with a darker, threatening groove, also adding some percussive elements resulting in a fusion of Club aesthetics with a genuine afro feel. A Juju ceremony for the dancefloor. Next is portuguese producer on the rise Kking Kong (Enchufada). This guy is on fire, check his latest 20 or so productions. Here he delivers the goods once again. Warning: certified banger with a bewitching flute sound that will nest itself inside your head for days.
Siete Catorce a producer hailing from mexico deconstructs and reassembles this global club music twisting it into a far out hypnotizing Affair, one for the headz! Lorenzo Bitw has steadily pushed his way into the focus of many over the last two years. This one definitely has a more techno/trancey feel and a great build up resulting in a liberating climax!

A true Trans Continental release.

'Quero Mais' is Lua Preta's latest single that has also become their biggest hit up to date. Featuring the ever-fresh intercontinental production from Mentalcut that bridges Africa and Europe, Ms. Gia's bold rapping verses and the guest vocal appearance from the one and only Morena Leraba from Lesotho, the song quickly caught attention of both the press and DJs all around the world. 

The concept of a remix EP seemed irresistible and the result comes in a form of 'Quero Mais Remixes EP' which brings four reworks from top players in the game. The journey starts with Jowaa - the Accra-based duo consisting of Benjamin Lebrave, head of Akwaaba Music, and Gafacci, one of the most promising African producers of his generation - who have just followed their last year's killer singles with a releae of 'Asokpor 1.0 EP'. Next up is Ugandan dancer and producer Faizal Ddamba Mostrixx whose 2017's 'Tribal Match' was one of the most valuable albums in the continent's electronic music scene and definitely one of the most important debuts. 

Then European producers come into play. Italy's Lorenzo_BITW who famously collaborated with Mina on a perfect jam 'Tombura' few years ago, now polished 'Quero Mais' into a lovely laid back tune just as he prepares for the release of his debut album out in June on Friends on Friends label. The last track hides a real gem created by the exceptional mind of Rafael Aragon who transferred the original song to another universe by producing a moody and psychedelic composition that captivates the listener in every single second over its seven-and-a-half minutes duration.

Roughly translated from Portuguese, Na Zona means something like being in a specific place, occupying a zone and owning it — a fitting metaphor for Branko’s career as a DJ and producer exploring the global side of club music. But what happens when you can no longer occupy physical spaces to create a shared experience around club music?

Enter Volume 2 of our Branko Presents: Enchufada Na Zona compilation series, where following the release of his sophomore album ‘Nosso’, the Enchufada founder curates a selection of original music from himself and some of his favourite artists, as well as a series of his own edits and remixes, all created during quarantine from home studios in Lisbon, Accra, São Paulo, London or Paris. With the club seeming like a distant memory, Branko puts forward a collection of songs more fitting to the times we live in and the physical space we get to enjoy them at: home.
