FS '18 // Dub Techno

This year irrepressible Italian born electronic producer Roberto Bosco returns with a new EP via his own imprint Last Drop Records, recently founded alongside with his partner in crime Kiny. This EP, that features four tracks, begins in media res with Sonorous Waves Part 1. An ambient intro track that creates the conditions for a mystic and celestial environment that pervades the whole release. Towards the end of the track a psychedelic reflection reshapes the sound: it is the light that filters, crystal clear and bright. The other track on the same side, Part 2, is more dancefloor oriented with a 4/4 beat and multi-layered structure made of typical industrial and techno sonorities. It's evident that they include Roberto Bosco's legacy: stormy emotions but with deep and melodic sound lines. Part 3 is another intro track, starting with spectral sounds that carefully develop into a full sci-fi ambience. Then, finally, part 4 arises with obscure and hypnotics sounds that match very slowly a more perpetual and gentle 4/4 that ends with ups and downs and a syncopated bass.

Delsin is to put out an eight track compilation for the tenth release on its Cameron series, taking in stronghold names as Claro Intelecto and Vril, as well as former contributors to the series Shlømo, Artefakt and Gunnar Haslam. As has been the mission for the series before, there's eye for new talent too – in the names of recent Delsin newcomer Sentomea, The Invariants and Cameron.

All contributors look beyond the dance floor to offer a mixture of moody and atmospheric sounds, and everyone was given free rein, which has resulted in a collection that covers so much stylistic ground.

Recent Delsin album artists Artefakt kick things off with their cut ‘Anemic Cinema’, a melange of jumbled kicks and watery sound design all backed by celestial ambient pads. Claro's ‘Hurt’ – a track coming from his archives, created before he started his famed Warehouse Sessions – is slippery and slithery, with icy electro lines and bright white synths making for a pristine groove.

Elsewhere, Gunnar Haslam's ‘Kerallel’ is a rugged affair that offsets a flurry of toms and snares with swooning and swirling pads and Vril offers lo-fi dub house bumps on ‘Lazar’. It is another standout amongst many interesting treats.

For its 303rd release, Tresor Records is glad to present a commissioned work by Donato Dozzy.

Rome based production maestro and DJ extraordinaire Donato Dozzy is unanimously considered as an illustrious leading light in all techno artforms.

Along his long career and extensive discography, Dozzy has proven to use his instruments most interesting ways, always re-inventing his music, always presenting new approaches to both the deeper and the more rhythmic forms of electronic music. It was self-evident to Tresor Records to enroll Donato Dozzy’s talents for this assignment, a nod to the seminal Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer.

The result is a relentless collection of radical, propulsive and bleeding-heart acid tracks. In Dozzy’s words.

Donato Dozzy wishes to dedicate this work to his lifelong friend Filo.

Properly reflecting the music he has been DJ'ing out recently, these are two high energy drum workouts that can go straight in the bag. One Eye is an electro based melodic builder, while Nerve Centers is heavily inspired by a more international Drum sound, forwarded by producers such as Noire, NKC, Ahadadream, Principe crew etc.
